Had an amazing family celebration here and it was FANTASTIC. Be sure to book in as it is a boutique Italian vibe and whilst they are very accommodating every time I've been in they are always full and run off their feet. Even though, they are working hard, lethal Leisel and her stellar crew always have a smile and warm welcome for everyone that walks through the hefty cellar door.

Food is distinctly North Italian casa-linga. Think Antonio Carluccio rustic feasts, with big platters of cured meats, seasonal veggies, fresh salads, creamy sides, slow-roasted meats and sweet desserts that go well with an espresso or another glass of wine.

My only disappointment is that my fav wines Ribolla Gialla and the Sangiovese are only temporary fixtures in the wine line up and you need to go every other month to check what they have stock. The wine is definitely worth it when you find a variety to your liking, remember though it's a boutique and everything is limited supply. First-world problems if you don't mind a scenic drive up the mountain

Enjoyed yet another wonder lunch today at our favourite Winery. As a group of 6, it was the first time for 2 friends - 1 who is gluten free. Absolutely perfect. 10/10.
The new fixed menu is just delicious, with the highest quality ingredients & perfectly matched with wines made at their cold climate vineyard. We love the Italian varietals and the honest, homecooked style dishes are spot one.
Couldn't recommend more highly. As usual, the service was exceptional.
Wish we'd taken photo's to post but we were having too much of a great time! Loaded our cars with cases of delish wines.

My gf (in a wheelchair) was turned around from entering the inside area during rain because ‘our tables are full’. I was shocked to the core. Diners also share the road with cars passing to access parking. You’ll see…

Hey Trev, sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Unfortunately all of our tables were fully booked inside and this is why we were not able to accomodate you. We’d love to see you again and make it up to you. Please be sure to make a booking in the future so we’re able to accomodate your every need.

My wife and I were very excited to be visiting Mount Towrong for lunch today. The person at the door was very welcoming and although we arrived early for some wine tasting this service was not available because of COVID restrictions.
Disappointing but understandable we were politely directed to our reserved table.

First the wine. A very pleasant red at very reasonable price started our day perfectly.
Service. Very professional and polite plus good timing to ask if we were ready to order.
Timing. Within ten minutes of ordering our Authentic Italian meatballs were presented at the table. We were amazed at the speed our meals appeared however it may be a reasonable assumption that this type of meal can be prepared earlier.

Meal and the most important part of our visit.
Here is the let down. The meatballs were dry, tasteless and lacking in any kind of Italian authenticity.
My wife organised this lunch and I was reluctant to say anything to her however she was the first to express her disappointment in the meal. I was very relieved when I realised it was just not me being too critical.
Dessert. Chocolate cake with cream. Very nice cake however served warm would have been much better.
Overall lots to admire about the service, ambience and wine. Food however which is what this restaurant has built its reputation on was sadly lacking and very disappointing.

A disappointing experience.
Visited for a special occasion. My chair collapsed on me the moment I sat on it, (I am of average weight). I understand that wine is to some extent a personal experience and this was explained to me when I was unimpressed with the sparkling wine and had the wait staff take it away discreetly. We ordered food, which was well presented and I ordered a wine to accompany my meal. The wine did not show and I reminded a wait staff. Again the wine did not come and I had the experience of lunch at a winery where I could not obtain a wine. On paying I spoke to management and I was told that no-one had complained before and asked to identify where I was from. I explained my dissatisfaction with the sparkling I tried and told this was a personal preference again and then asked to identify by name or face the wait staff I had ordered from, I find this beyond the pale. I explained to management that my complaint has to be 'owned' by them and had to repeat this to them. Please take this constructively.

Terrific Italian food and extra Mount Towrong wines. Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Delicious meatballs. Rocket walnut salad and haloumi dish were divine. Water appeared on the table frequently without needing to ask. We will be back!

I had read about this winery being a small family run vineyard that unlike many wineries, didn't use pesticides,so was intrigued to learn more. The cellar door is a modern style double story concrete building with a huge barn style door. Upon walking in we were pleasantly surprised by the interior; so different to many wineries. Two levels, both with wood fires and a mix of old style tables, chairs and couches, it was more like a cosy and casual wine lounge. It was quite busy when we arrived, so staff didn't attend to us straight away but when we did interact they were really lovely, full of information about the winery and area and made time to chat to us. I got the feeling they were a little 'laid back' but found this made the experience more relaxed for us. The views from the large windows upstairs were beautiful, could easily have stayed for the afternoon. The wines we did try were very nice, particularly the Giovani. They offer simple food (cheese platter or cake - tried the flourless choc cake which was yum). We took our young baby and had no issues, though I think we'd have struggled with our toddler aged kids due to stairs, so glad we had them babysat! Really loved this place and would definitely recommend visiting.

A group of my friends and I visited Mount Towrong as part of our Girls weekend away trip to the Macedon Ranges. We had heard good recommendations and were keen to taste the wine, hear about the area and sit down for some cheese and nibbles!
When we arrived it was bustling and very busy, we hadn’t booked a tasting or a table (an error on our part - but hey we were being spontaneous and not wanting to be on any schedule!).
The lady that greeted us was friendly and as expected told us there would be a 5/10min wait. The wait wasn’t very long and we were soon tasting wines!
Unfortunately this would have had to been the most rushed, unfriendly and impersonal experience I’ve ever had at a winery. We were told nothing about the wines apart from the name by the lady serving us, and she didn’t even wait for us all to finish before starting to pour the next wine. We all felt like we were in the way and that they wanted us out.
Half of us bought a bottle of wine after the tasting and were not even farewelled with a smile.
I left with no further appreciation of the winery region and more than dissatisfied with the customer service experience. I understand the pressures of a busy service time, but I’m so sad to see that it resulted in a servely compromised customer service experience!

Hi Leah S, We are sorry you feel that way! We hate to think that anyone leaves the cellar door unhappy. We do get really busy at times and hope that this adds to the casual friendly atmosphere. Hopefully you give us another try in the future, we would love to see you again. Cheers

This place had been recommended by a number of friends, we weren't disappointed,.

Food good, wine very good and the service and enthusiastic attitude of the staff just perfect. In fact the place could not be faulted.

Made a booking for a return visit.
