About
Balancing Heart Vineyard is a 100 acre vineyard, 9 minutes from Ballandean on the Granite Belt. We have 13 varieties of grapes growing on our property, in the inimitable Granite Belt decomposed soil - creating cool-climate wines of the highest quality. We are one of the highest altitude vineyards on the Granite Belt with grapes growing close to 1000 metres above sea level and are passionate about caring for this land we are the current custodians of. We enjoy sharing unique, high-quality food and wine experiences with our customers. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and are famous for our epic pizzas! Come and enjoy a wine tasting and experience our boutique cellar door, enjoying expansive views over the vines, dam and farm animals, including our infamous Highland cow! We run live music every Saturday and the cellar door also enjoys sensational sunsets, so we encourage you to linger! We are also open Friday - Sunday afternoons & evenings for dinner - bookings essential.

We visited for lunch on a Monday and had a wonderful experience. Good thing we booked ahead because the small inside area was all but full and it was too cold to sit outside. The experience was amazing with the wood heater fired up inside and the young bloke behind the bar being very passionate and knowledgeable about the wines. Will definitely be back.

Last day in Stanthorpe and thought to visit one last winery for a tasting. Worth the drive and Balancing Heart ended up being a surprising highlight of our trip. Taking a different approach to others in the area, the tasting is completely free - we tried 10 varieties! The staff were friendly and warm and we even managed to have a chat with the head winemaker and got a little bit of education on wine making and processes. Obviously very passionate folks that love what they do and want to share with others. Some nice food available as well, recommend the pizza apple pie - delicious and great value. Nice modern professional surroundings with a perfect view of the vineyards

We were a family group covering 7 decades in ages. Each of us agreed what a lovely evening we had. The kids really enjoyed the animals, feeding & petting. Adults all loved the ambience, the view & sunset, the wines, the rugs to snuggle in the cool of the evening. Everyone loved the pizzas. A great evening not far from our weekend accomodation.

Our tour group arrived for a pre-booked wine tasting and unfortunately experienced the worst customer experience imaginable. The aggressive and abrupt manner in which the wine maker conducted the tasting was a sight to behold, belittling guests when the wines weren’t to their taste. It was a chore to provide some water and buckets when requested during the tasting. If the owners want to keep the gates open, it would be advisable to keep him and his disgusting behaviour back of house and away from paying guests

This place has great potential, but has grown quicker than its systems and staff can keep up with, resulting in very poor service. We'd booked in well in advance for a wine tasting and lunch on a Saturday. On arrival we could see the venue was busy and were glad we'd pre-booked. We received a warm enough welcome, the location was excellent and the food was good (when it finally came), but that's about where the good news ends. Since it was busy, we offered on numerous occasions to come to the bar to do our wine-tasting, but were told 3 times that they'd bring it to us at our table. We agreed but after several reminders and over an hour and a half waiting, we NEVER received our booked wine tasting. We also ordered two pizzas. One arrived after 40 minutes waiting (fair enough for a busy day) and we enquired at least three times about our other pizza. Eventually we were told it was coming out of the kitchen NOW, but still waited another 20 minutes. After an hour and 40 minutes waiting we eventually left with a pizza in a box, as we had bookings to get to elsewhere. When we eventually got it we commented on the wait, and were rudely told 'we're a very busy establishment'. Not good enough I'm afraid.
As I said, this place has great potential, but I could not recommend it after the service we received. If you book in for a Saturday, be sure to allow several hours to receive lunch, and don't count on a wine tasting. It may well not happen.

We booked a Sunset Dinner for Friday 25 November confirmed by Jade on 11 November.
When we arrived the gate was locked.
After several ring-outs a gentlemen answered. He kept telling us they were closed and had a private function. It was hard to get him to listen to what we were saying as he seemed keen to end the call.
He apologised.
It would have been nice if he had offered to rebook us but he did not.
We were most disappointed.

Angry winemaker serving clients doesn’t work. The previous 3 wineries were great and we bought a lot of product - Angry Anderson wine maker should just make wine and not be at the front of sales open to criticism. You might need to pay someone to remove your bad reviews as our whole group have recommended our many British & Australian friends to steer clear of this winery. Dismal performance - worse than English Cricket Team in the current Ashes!!!

Balancing Heart is in a lovely location. Aside from wine tasting, you can get great woodfired pizzas and sit at one of the tables overlooking the lake. It's a very pleasant way to have a leisurely lunch. On weekends, you can eat here at night too and they have live music.

Took a 30 minute drive out of Stanthorpe to a winery. However we were not going for the wine

They have a wood fired pizza oven and pumped out some delicious pizzas

However when we arrived they had our reservation for 7 but no actual table reserved.

Also the young brunette lass who took our orders was not switched on and also she was a rude cow

Service sucked

We were staying at the National Park not far from the winery and dropped in for lunch as it was recommended by a lady at Stanthorpe information centre. We were not disappointed. We had the mezz platter which was very generous in the the selection and quantity of tasty food. The wood fired pizza was excellent and both very reasonably priced. We enjoyed an excellent bottle of Shiraz as well while sitting inside out of the cold windy weather next to a fire. It can be confusing which of the 50 wineries to visit, put this one at the top of the list.
