Borgarsyssel Museum holds an extensive collection of artifacts and old objects from different periods of time. In addition there are about 20 old buildings showing ostfold's history from medieval to present time. The museum was built in 1924 and is situated at the ruins of Nikolas Church from 1115. The museum has something for everyone. Children's hour starts at 12.00 Tuesdays-Sundays in the «kids yard» (barnas gard) where they meet different animals and/or may participate in an archeological excavation Guided tours: Tuesday- Friday:11.00-3.00 pm Sat.-Sun: 12.00-4.00 pm Studio Indigo , the shop where to buy hand made glass. Opening hours: Wed-Sat: 10.00-3.00 pm

This place is a charming area,og historical buildings from this area. The little church is a copy of a middelage building.

This museum is the main museum in this area. But perhaps the most boring, for those not living in the district. The buildings placed here is from different parts of Østfold county. On the best side, there is a small garden with herbs and medicine-plants . During the summer , there will be several arrangements on the property. Those are... More
