Borgarsyssel Museum holds an extensive collection of artifacts and old objects from different periods of time. In addition there are about 20 old buildings showing ostfold's history from medieval to present time. The museum was built in 1924 and is situated at the ruins of Nikolas Church from 1115.

This place is so amazing to visit. Sarpsborg was the first ever Capital of Norway, and its 3rd oldest city with 1000 year celebration in 2016. Get a piece of Sarpsborg, and norwegian history at this place.

Very good place to get a feeling for the history of the area. New Olav's Hall is simple, but provides isight to Sarpsborg's beginnings.
