Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A big WHOA to this incredible glimpse into Portugal’s history. Pretty much untouched by us tourists makes me feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit this site before it gets spoiled. And on your way, stop by Leaves Cafe for ab organically deliciously healthy start to the day.

The experience was very memorable. I was a solo traveler and our guide Raquel made sure to include me in a lot of conversations so I wouldn’t be lonely. I got to meet new people and we felt like a family the whole time. The lunch was so delicious and the hike had some of the best views on my trip to Porto. Would definitely recommend.

This was a spur of the moment drive on our last day in Portugal. We went to Seismbra but beach was full and no parking in town since it was the Portugal independence day. We glanced at Trip Advisor and saw this viewpoint was close by. It was absolutely beautiful with spring flowers on the hills leading to cliffs and ocean below. There are several paths around the area for nice hikes and different view points. There is a small Cafe with delicious pastries next to the historical church. One of the highlights of our trip!

Great views of the Atlantic Ocean and dramatic coastline. We also enjoyed seeing the church with two rows of bulidings for pilgrims to stay in. The lighthouse was beautiful (not many of that type in my neck of Maine). The tiny chapel is built on the site of a reputed Virgin Mary apparttion. There are even dinosaur footprints on the cliffside.

Cabo Espichel is a cape situated on the western coast of Portugal. Stunning, no other words. Amazing views, monastery, lighthouse, walk to the abandoned house. Cabo Espichel Lighthouse is one of the oldest in the country. It was built in 1790. You have to be careful because cliffs are really very high. An attractive place that you must see. Magic place. This is a place you don't want to leave. It's worth coming here.

The Cabo Espichel may be a bit out of the way and definitely requires a car, but it is worth the effort: in addition to the beautiful landscape, especially during the sunset, it offers a combination of attractions: an historical lighthouse, a beautiful Sanctuary and Hermitage, containing footprints of sauropod dinosaurs and a water house with the ruin of an aqueduct to was bringing the water to the premises. It is said that part of the site is under restauration to house a hotel.

Very nice place to visit. Go just before sun set to see 'magic' :) bit dangerous with small kids, better keep the at hand because the cliffs are dangerous.

We first tought there was " just" the cape. But there is a beautiful, mystical old inn/monastary as well. There was this monastary and pelgrims came and had to stay somewere, so they build this inn. On both sides of the monastary. So beautiful. And there is a beautiful lighthouse. Plenty of parkingspace. With walking, looking and having a drink at the coffee place.. We stayed here about 1 and a half hours.

This church and quad with accommodation for pilgrims is set on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Dedicated to the Virgin of the Cape who is the protector of fishermen, all the fishing communities gather here on the last Sunday of September.

Around every corner is another spectacular view - it was tough deciding whether we should keep driving or get out and walk. We hiked near the lighthouse, out near the church, and around near the dinosaur footprints.
