Beautiful ruins. Very cold on this time of the year, take a good clothes! There is the possibility to download an application for audio-guide, but I tried and didn't work. Free WiFi on the entrance.

Valkenburg has a beautiful castle ruin. Complete with chapel and knight's hall. At the entrance you can view a scale model to see how big this castle used to be. You can combine this visit with a visit to the Fluwengrot, but we did not...More

Took a guided tour through the caves in combination with a visit to the ruins. I am prejudiced since I have worked here in the past, but I still love it. The small tunnels, the paintings and the carvings are all beautiful in their own...More

We visited both the mine and castle ruins. Both worth the visit. Great views above ground, below ground interesting stories and atmosphere. Loved it. It is an excersise session with lots of walking and stairs (castle ruins).

During the guided tour in the Velvet cave, which was actually man made for extracting the stone from the mine for building purposes, you are being told the story of dragons and 2 castle lords (brothers) that fell in love with the same girl. One...More

We went around the ruins and just looking around without understanding the explanation. Yet it can be understood by just looking and viewing the displays around. historical and informative. Can be worth the 12 Euro entrance.

Was good to walk around, take a coat though. The cave guide will answer questions in English and says a few things in English but really just go and enjoy the drawings as you can always read the guide they give you.

While the caves are relatively interesting and the paintings inside without a question are impressive, it Is quite frustrating that the guided tour is available only in Dutch which you get told AFTER you've paid. You'll receive a small overview with English info texts about...More

The caves were very interesting but the language barrier was difficult. They have an app that allows you to hear an explanation of the different stops but the guide sounded much more interesting. They say if there are enough English speaking guests, they do the...More

I have been to both, and while both are excellent, Cologne has more appeal I think because it is held next to the cathedral. I also don't recall having Glu Wine at the Dutch Market. I have not used either coach line.
