The tour isn't in English so you are provided with the information before hand. The guide did speak a bit of English but with the help of a phone torch we could follow the paper guide. It was really interesting how the caves have been...More

The tour in the cave was interesting , with a funny tour guide. Temperature in the cave is 12 degrees celsius constantly, so cool during hot summer and comfortly in cold winter. Take this in mind when you have young children. The view over valkenburgis...More

Castle is good offering great views of town with well written signage in English as well as Dutch. The caves however are a different story. Don't go with kids under 7 or 8 yrs old as a minimum and make sure you are fluent in...More

Wasn't expecting much from this tour. The cave tour is done with a guide who only speaks in dutch. You are given a good English guide sheet before the start & I recommend that you read it all before you go in, as it's too...More

I went with my 4 year old yesterday. We ended up on a Dutch tour but they gave us a sheet of paper with info on it so we could understand some of what was being said. The tour lasted an hour and the caves...More

We explored the ruins first and did the cave tour after. The ruins are interesting to see who they were constructed. Most of the castle is limestone blocks removed from the caves. The cave tour was excellent. Certain times during the day the have an...More

From a purely historical and geographical perspective the tour of the caves was both interesting and fascinating. The tour guides are well versed but depending on the make-up of the group you may find yourself with the tour in Dutch - however visitors are given...More

Sorry for the pun, but this place was really awesome!! Besides the amazing cave drawings and the interesting history behind the whole cave, the tour guides were amazing! Just beware because the cave is always 12°C (even during summer). From my experience, THEY DO have...More

We went to Valkenburg and visited both the Gemeentegrot and the Fluwelengrot. The Fluwelengrot is nice, but has a different history, since it is related to the history of the castle, which goes back to the test 1000. Interesting walk, but guide only in Dutch....More

I have been to both, and while both are excellent, Cologne has more appeal I think because it is held next to the cathedral. I also don't recall having Glu Wine at the Dutch Market. I have not used either coach line.
