Monteriggioni is a very well preserved Medieval village - very quaint. But keep in mind this is a very small village...a couple of stores and restaurants and a hotel - Hotel Monteriggioni. Unless you are having lunch or dinner, to see the entire village will...More

Just what you hope to see. Ancient buildings that let your mind wander. Just small enough to be able to see in an hour.

Good selection or restaurants. We had lunch in the one opposite the church in the square. Went to visit the museum which is 2.5 Euro entrance fee but you also get a ticket for the wall walk. None of the payment machines in the car...More

Monteriggioni is an attractive but rather sleepy hill town. There is architecture to investigate and walls and towers. And the magnificent views over the countryside. We had an enforced dinner here but it was actually rather nice!

Doors - I have this thing about doors and this town certainly has them. Plus so much more. It’s well worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed. A few places to eat, refreshments but not too many touristy shops. Church and museums worth exploring....More

The town is worth a visit. It’s a lovely area, quiet and serene. The streets are all cobblestones and can be a bit difficult to walk on, but doable. The streets wind and every turn reveals another surprise! We had great biscotti here and there...More

Like many Tuscan towns, it is very small but packed with beauty and history. A short but wonderful visit.

We decided to visit Siena but wanted to visit Monteriggioni as well. We arrived in Siena by bus from Florence, walked through the city centre, the piazza, the duomo, piazza mercato and had a snack. We returned to piazza Gramsci in Siena, bought a bus...More

a "must-do" if you in the area, a 13th century walled town no more than 600m across with intact walls, good parking and café/restaurant within the walls. You don't need long to walk around but the history and quaintness of it are very appealing.
