- Jo BHertfordshire, United Kingdom99 contributionsAmazing church and architectureIf you like visiting gothic and baroque churches this place is for you. Its fascinating. I felt a bit unhappy about paying €8 for a ticket and audio guide as it’s only €5 for Alcazar. But I got over it!!! They also include 3D viewing goggles which bring the church to another dimension. You feel like you are flying. Weird but amazing.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 February 2024

Pleasant vaulting inside and impressive pullers. A very bling alter. The unattached clock tower is much more pleasant.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 29 March 2024
- permia64,746 contributionsFabulous place of reverenceAn inspirational and reverential holy place it is quite extraordinary. Exterior wise it has exquisite stone decorative carvings. Interior most definitely doesn’t disappoint. A sense of awe at its creation prevails.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 April 2024
- Seat47Loughborough, United Kingdom242 contributionsDefinitely worth a visitAn extremely interesting cathedral learning all about its history via a download. However this would work better with headphones so as to not let everyone hear the story. I'm sure these must cost very little so supplyVisited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 September 2024

A very nice cathedral in the centre of the old town just next to Tio Pepe and Plaza de Arsenal. 6 euros to get in is a little steep and an additional 1 euro to climb up the bell tower. Audio guide is excellent and via your on mobile phone. Very well preserved and worth 30 mins despite the price.

In our tour of the city, our guide mentioned the wood/gold pelican behind the altar in the treasures room, and the chapel with a 24x7 nativity scene. Both are worth hunting down. Pretty good audio guide.

Large cathedral and the main cathedral in Jerez, so a must do whilst visiting for any length of time. We booked to see the inside of the church itself but also to climb the adjacent (not joined on!) bell tower to get a view over the town. Inside of the church quite typical of so many in Spain (and on the continent generally) - lots of icons, 'bling' and heavily catholic, so if you aren't into this, maybe don't bother? Climb to top of the tower needs to be timed to avoid the times the bells ring (!) so you don't get too long up there. Also, you don't get to go to the very top of the tower, just to the bells level, so maybe not as great a panoramic view as if higher up. Bell tower in Sevilla much more impressive! Still, whilst here we felt we should at least do this.

We came here on July 15th, 2022 (so almost a year ago) a little after 12pm. We were there for less than 30 minutes but it was really pretty! As with many cathedrals, they start to look the same after a while. What set this one apart, in my opinion, is that it had these awesome mini treasure rooms. I spent most of my time wandering through these rooms (our kids were at preschool so it was a rare moment that we could wander without interrupt at our own pace). So while I don't remember specifically what I saw in those rooms, I remember walking around them so this cathedral, of the good 20+ we saw in Spain, sticks out in my brain!

A squat ugly building that is unusual for Andalusian cathedrals. It does not compare to most of the others I’ve seen. The outside walls look like a prison, up to roof level when it improves. Inside it’s blocks of stone without grace or charm. If you can only see some cathedrals of Andalusia go to cordoba or Cadiz and give this one a miss.

We enjoyed our visit to Jerez Cathedral and took advantage of the audio-guide so that we did not miss out on important aspects of it. It was built with an interesting mixture of styles which work well together. Definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed the spectacle of the Cathedral, its relics and surrounds. The approach featured preparations for the processions planned for Holy Week; these were certainly going to be well-attended and spectacular in scale and piety. (Coronavirus ultimately interfered with these.)
We took the audio guides but found that there was far too much detail – this left us frustrated at our inability to retain much information about the site and inattentive towards its ultimate splendour.

I did not attend the service. I only went for the tour. The tour is offered in many languages via headset.
