Better when seen from above, so walk to some of the ends of the lake and hike up to see the curves on it, as any instagram post will show you.

Fantastic for taking a hike along or jumping in and going swimming. Paddle boards are also available nearby. If you're feeling adventurous, there's a 5 meter bridge located between the Plansee and Heiterwanger See that's a popular spot for jumping into the lake.

During a recent trip to Europe with friends we drove between Garmisch Germany and Ulm Germany. The route we took led us right by Lake Plansee and the Lake ended up being one of my favorite views of our entire trip. The lake sits at the base of several mountains and is crystal clear. The day of our drive the sun was shining brightly and the reflection off the water was absolutely incredible. In fact, we have pictures that look like postcards and I plan to have a canvas made with one of my favorites. There is a park on the Lake where we would have had a picnic had we know in advance that we were going to enjoy the views so much. The road to Lake Plansee is curvy but the views of the mountains and the water make it well worth it.…
