It was windy and rainey when we visited. It was still a very interesting place with great views. Took lots of great pictures,

See Settler's Rock and walk to the North Light lighthouse. That part of the island is beautiful. It's about a 3/4 mile walk to the lighthouse on sand. There is no path. I say this because I just got out of a boot for a...More

Settlers rock is a tribute to the settlers on block island. It’s on a rocky Beach that has many stacked rock sculptures.

This is right by the end of the pavement for the north lighthouse. It is interesting to read about the history of this island. Make a stop here on your way to the lighthouse.

This marker sits near the parking area at the north end of the island. Most use the parking area for the long beach walk towards the lighthouse.

Go here to watch the sunset, or the swans and geese on sachem pond. Or just watch the water. The rock has the names of the original island settlers.

This is a quiet beach an easy walk from the center of town. Stop and read the plaque. By cycling is fun too.

The rock itself isn't a huge attraction but of course you'll be seeing it as part of the lighthouse. The beach next to it (not visible in this Trip advisor photo) is covered with cairns made from those rocks.
