Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went surfing and swimming. Lovely beach. Surfed at high tide and there is no sand if wanting to drop off stuff due to rocks. Swimming is pretty safe. Change area is very basic.

YCW Beach is a popular beach. It's good for families and has good surf when the waves are coming from the right direction. The beach can a bit tricky for youngsters, so you will have to keep an eye on them. Parking can be tight, try and get to the beach a bit early if you can. By the way, YCW stands for Young Catholic Workers, a youth group that was popular in the 1950s and 1960s.

Came here for surfing lessons, pretty busy but great friendly vibes. Car park is crazy so try parking further up the road...

The YCW (Young Catholic Workers) was a Catholic youth organisation that was popular in the 1950s and '60s. YCW Beach is near the YCW camp, which is in the rough just behind the beach. YCW Beach is popular with novice surfers and it's good for young children, though supervision is necessary.

Awesome location with enough space for little ones to paddle and bigger ones to surf. Stairs back to the car park were hard work though!

YCW Beach is ideal for novice surfers due to its gentle, regular waves and sandy bottom. At low tiide, it's also good for ankle-biters who can paddle along the sandy beach. When the conditions are right, YCW Beach is also an excellent break for more exxperienced surfers. The clean, white sand is good for families. By the way, YCW is an acronym for "Young Catholic Workers," a Catholic youth organisation which had a camp nearby.

We love this beach. The waves tend to be more regular and predictable and perfect for boogie boarding. It is a very good for families.

This small southern facing ocean beach on Phillip Island is a lesser known surfers attraction. When the ocean swell is running and an offshore northerly wind is providing perfect waves, this is the place to be. The gently sloping bottom and rocky reefs at each end of the beach create safe shore break conditions for young swimmers at low tide also.

Unique experience walking across large pebbles to enjoy beach. Offers lovely views from the top. Be aware that it has steep stairs.
