A wonderful place and a fitting monument to THE FEW. Would highly recomend a visit for a couple of hours. There is a wonderful peaceful ambiance around the place and the staff are most friendly and helpful.

You might be able to have a picnic actually at the site - I suggest you call them. A little way away are a pub and tea shop actually on the cliff top and the White Cliffs Nat Trust area just N of Dover would require a parking fee but the views are stunning. That's the other side of Dover. Nearby on the same Southern side as the Memorial is the Samphire Hoe nature reserve - again you'd have to pay to park but it's attractive with lots of picnic possibilities. V close to the Memorial is East Cliff & Warren Country Park but I haven't been there and don't know about the parking situation. Good luck from Janet
