Absolutely excellent team of friendly people, site very well marked out, cake, coffee etc ad lib. We didn't get the lights the evening we went but they can't be guaranteed. I would certainly go with this team again

This trip to see the northern lights was off a cruise ship and Try getting came on board and gave an informative talk. Particularly. Explaining the possibility or not of seeing the lights. The site chosen by Glod to view the lights was an hour away. The site had toilets and plenty of cake(not to good) and hot chocolate (excellent).... More

We took two trips with Glod: Northern Lights Hunting and Snowshoeing and Ice Fishing. Both trips were excellent. The guides were friendly and helpful. The equipment provided by Glod was great and both trips included some food, all of which was delicious. I would whole heartedly recommend doing either of these excursions with Glod and I am sure all of... More

The 'go to' company for the Northern Lights (no affiliation). They do a great job of explaining and presenting the Northern Lights and will do the best job of trying to ensure you see them - whilst it is weather dependant, they go the extra mile. Been on our bucket list for years - not any more!.

Booked trip independently with GLOD. Having researched the options on the internet before travelling, it was obvious being in a coach with 50 people, or a mini bus for 8 was a better option. The service provided by GLOD was first class, met them in town, taken to their headquarters, after a introduction, provided with a lovely bowl of soup, the... More

we were also on the P&O,s Oriana but booked an independant trip with GLOD which was longer and cheaper than the ship's one so some times that's the way to go, We were picked up at Alta and taken to their site where we had a talk by Sarah, very informative, then we were served some wonderful soup and rolls... Booked the trip through P&O on our visit to Alta on The Oriana pick up from ship 9:30 pm . Taken by coach to a campsite 15 minutes from the ship ,where we were escorted to a field to look at a cloudy sky for 4hours . The trip was booked as in search of the lights,if it was cloudy... More

I agree that it was poor value for money. I felt it was an easy option. I heard this company GLOD also took some off the ship to a further location on the same night and success seeing the Lights It was easy money for this company when it was known how cloudy the site was with light pollution. An... More

Thanks for your review. It is correct that those who booked our public tour went far (towards North East) that evening. They also, as the late Oriana departures, saw the Northern Lights late that evening. I have explained the costs and the light pollution issue on a previous review from the same evening. I hope it is understandable. More

We visited Alta on our cruise on the Oriana and had booked this trip independently with GLOD via the internet. What a fantastic time we had, we were picked up from Alta and taken to GLOD HQ for a briefing and some very tasty chowder then off in the mini buses to search for the lights. After a 20 min... More
