It is a shame that because there are so many amazing chateaux, Abbeys etc that one can fail to marvel on yet another masterpiece. This sits high above the town but can be reached from the winding streets of the old town below it.

An absolute breathtaking jewel. Cheap and worth visiting. If you like medieval stuff u won't be disappointed. Apparently it will be completely renovated by spring 2019

But don't let the Disney feel discourage you. It is quite nice and its prescence above the town lends an aire of pagentry. Great for kids but lots of stairs. If you can go during a day when actors demonstrate weapons, crafts and brewing it's...More

Bit of a climb but the views are superb. English translation available, there was a tour guide but tour was in French. There is also archery available if you fancy having a go.

We had our two small children (3&6months ) with us. This is entirely unsuitable for a buggy so you will need a sling. The staircases are narrow and very winding so holding in arms wouldn’t be a great option. I think you would need to...More

I visited first with two small, hungry nephews - the spiral stairs up the square tower were a hit with the 8-year old, but a bit stressful for me and his mum (narrow, steep and dark with people going both up and down!). The 3-year...More

Great view from top of towers. Lots of steps to get there. Interesting history but could do with more multilingual displays.

A little bit of a climb up to the entrance but great views over the countryside even by the time you’ve got just inside the gate. There was the chance to try your arm with a longbow and a crossbow while we were there or...More

As castles go this is a small one, with a steep climb on slippery cobbles to reach the top. It's very hot in summer! There’s a bow and arrow range for the kids to try and a reconstruction of a large wooden ancient catapult. Views...More
