Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best ice cream in the Daintree! Lots of flavours and tasted delicious. We really loved the Daintree flavour - highly recommend!

Floravilla was just down the road from where we were staying in Cow Bay. I had high hopes for it but the ice cream was just ok. The best flavour was by far the honey. I would also highly recommend coming here over the “other” ice creamery in the Daintree. Far more personal at Floravilla and away from the constant stream of tour buses

Disappointing. We tried several flavours but all were very lacklustre. Ice cream was very icy not creamy and flavours lacked any intensity. Would bypass this and go 2 minutes up the road to the other ice creamery, which was beautiful, busy and much better.

Lady working there was apathetic and unhelpful. Place was rundown. The ice cream had interesting flavours which is really the only plus. The ice cream itself was a bit icy and not the greatest. Would give it a miss.

Very tasty ice cream and they cater to those of us who have lactose issues or prefer a vegan diet. It was so informnative to see all the fruit trees.

This place sold ice creams of all different flavours. It wasn't really ice cream though. It was more like sorbet i think. Not creamy but more crystallized. It was OK. There are two ice cream places in the Daintree and I think the other one is a better choice.

We couldn’t decide which of the 2 ice cream places to go to, so we went to both. At Floravilla you could select from a range of flavours and get 1 flavour in a plastic tub for $5. There was a good range of flavours but the icecream itself had tiny ice crystals in it. The older lady who served was rather terse and unhelpful when asked what some of the unusual flavours might resemble. We didn’t like that plastic tubs were being used.
Next we went to the Daintree Icecream company. We opted for the 4 different flavours in the one (cardboard) tub for $7.50. The alternative was to have just 1 flavour in the same size tub for $6. The 4 flavours were interesting and delicious, passion fruit, yellow sapote, wattleseed and coconut. There was a good range of other flavours. We liked that they used cardboard tubs rather than plastic. The surrounds were a big area of mown grass with plenty of seating outside or under cover. Overall the tubs were larger and better value than at Floravilla and the icecream was a better quality.

Delicious natural ice-cream. I loved the pistachio ice-cream and the macadamia ice-cream. It was nice and frozen and firm - not soft melty ice-cream that you get in some places with a warm climate. Friendly staff. Lovely shaded spaces in the garden to sit.

We enjoyed our visit to Floravilla where we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff on our arrival. The ice cream was tasty and the outdoor seating area where we sat to eat was nice.
