My wife and I stopped here on our tour of PEI. We both thoroughly enjoy our visit. The people we met were very friendly and knowledgeable. The buildings and historical information were both very informative and interesting. I myself really enjoyed the blacksmith and the...More

As visitors from the UK we found the museum interesting - real voices of the people who grew up on farms in the late 19th and 20th century. The museum highlighted just what a hard life it must have been for those early settlers. Interesting...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in the last day of August so not all the activities were staffed. The blacksmith was very informative and interacted well with both youth and adults. The lunch was adequate (grilled cheese) and very affordable. We would go again.

Great plate to step back in time and see the many amenities towns around the turn or the century had to offer. Staff was on hand to explain the buildings and their contents, including one who's relative ran the store. The blacksmith shop was under...More

We went to Orwell Historic Village with our three children (10,8,6) and they all asked if we could go back again the next day. The highlights were making their own candles, taking home a hook that they watched the blacksmith make, playing with the baby...More

A trip back in time to an authentic farming village on Prince Edward Island in the 1890's. Sort of like a miniature Colonial Williamsburg (but with original buildings?) including a farmhouse, blacksmith shop, church, schoolhouse, general store, etc. Many exhibits feature original farm equipment and...More

After a HUGE disappointment with Avonlea Village, I absolutely LOVED this place. It is a historic village that stands as it was. The owners are so friendly and approachable and encouraged the children to interact with the animals. We went for a horse drawn wagon...More

I visited Orwell Corner on July 2nd, 2018. Even though there were several tourists, along with a tour bus, there was nothing going on in any of the buildings. We paid an entrance fee and then upon entering the village found out that if we...More

This is not a re-created village.....it stands as it was built with the exception of the agricultural museum. It's one of the few like left in North America. It's a great place for the entire family to visit, again and again.

This settlement goes back to the early 1800's. There are many original tools, bldgs., & other associated articles. There are houses and barns to tour and is a great educational experience for the kids.
