Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just an hour from Melbourne, nestled in the timber town of Noojee is a replica of the old Noojee railway station that houses a heritage centre full of information and artefacts about the history of the area. It focuses on the timber and railway past of Noojee with some very interesting photos. From the car park, information boards set the scene with the history of the town and also about the J Class locomotive which now sits alongside the platform. Now open on weekends and public holidays from 11 to 4, it is another attraction in this beautiful area and from the car park you can even walk along the original rail trail to the trestle bridge. Well worth a visit!!

Located along the way towards the Toorongo falls, just a few Km from the Noojee pub. Still in the process of being built. A quick stop to see the train and replica station.

We visited the heritage centre before we went on the very pleasant walk to the old bridge.
The centre is very clean and run by lovely man who is very knowledgeable. It's a great place to park before the walk.

The heritage centre is manned by passionate staff. This small information centre has a wealth of local photography from times gone by. The staff are incredibly friendly and if you have an interest in history, you should stop in here and look around. Value is assured as all they ask of you is a donation of your choice. The donation goes towards maintaining the centre and hopefully one day expanding it.

This centre has not been opened for very long, but already have a great collection of photos on display, as well as short videos running..A J class steam engine has recently arrived at the platform for display. The staff were very helpful, and wish them well in the future.

There is an old train, a newly build replica of the original train station, and information sign giving the history of the site and the excitement and promise of more to come. There is plenty to see now but The Cultural heritage center is due to open in March 2014 and this very exciting project, shows how even a very small town can do amazing things when the whole community work together.

A nice little road side stop where you can see some old logging equipment from a hundred years ago and a fantastic old steam locomotive.

Saw the steam train on the way to Toorongo Falls & decided to stop there on the way home.
The steam train is quite impressive but probably needs someone to remove to cobwebs once in a while. It’s hard to see some of the stuff in the drivers area due to all the spider webs.
The signboards are full of information and there is a 2km walk that starts here and finishes at the trestle bridge.
The Heritage Centre building is only open May-August which was disappointing.
We stayed around 15mins.
No toilets or drinking taps available on the visit

After visiting the trestle bridge just down the road, I found this to be the perfect end to the story. Great for kids to get up close and personal to a steam train, they also have a set of boom gate lights in operation. Inside the little "station" there is heaps of old photos of the surrounding towns, old bridges and the local people. There is also some little stories about noojee as you walk onto the platform. Something different to have a look at on your way through the town if you're interested in the history side of things.
