Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a site these falls are after rains!! Never been here before and I’ve lived in Victoria for 25 years and husband is burn and bred in Victoria 73 years and never been here. A must visit. Lovely picnic spots by the river and the drive into the country side is magnificent.

Hidden in Gippsland amongst the green rolling hills that are the Strzelecki Ranges is the Agnes River. It is 40 kilometres long and here at the falls it cascades at 59 metres over rocks.

The river was named by John Gellion - a grazier and early pioneer of the coastal district...he named it after his daughter Agnes Louisa. Early on it was known as Little River but in 1866 it was officially gazetted by governor Latrobe whose daughter's name was coincidentally also Agnes.

When you drive to the area from Welshpool, the views from the road are utterly breath-taking. Driving into the reserve, there is an area for several cars to park. There is a toilet block next to the carpark.

If you are facing towards the river... to the right is the picnic grounds where you will be under spectacular trees and have gorgeous river views. This is also where you will find both sheltered and unsheltered picnic tables to enjoy a day out. If you turn left at the carpark this will lead you to the falls lookout which is less than 300m from the carpark. The walk is sloped, so care must be taken...but it is lovely. There were several skinks that scampered out of my way as I walked towards the lookout.

Easy walk, 2 paths that lead to falls. Both between 200-350 metres in length. There are 2 viewing platforms and a small amount of steps to get down. The falls were beautiful and larger than we were expecting. Toilets and picnic area are available. There is a sign advising that larger vehicles may find it difficult to turn around in the car park. This would be depend entirely on how busy the car park is but if you had a caravan attached I think it would be difficult. We even brought our dogs along for the short walk.

In the past, I have never heard of this place. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is no overseas travel for me since mid March 2020 and probably for the rest of 2021.

My wife and I decided to focus on regional travel within Victoria so that we can drive our car for holidays and avoid air flights.

As part of our visit to Wilsons Prom, we decided to visit Agnes Falls for a look. This place is certainly off the beaten track and is a detour from our journey. My wife and I were the only visitors during our visit.

Having been to Niagara Falls in Canada, this waterfall is tiny.

This was a last minute trip due to rain stopping another day at the beach.
We followed the road signs up to the car park and took the short walk to the viewing platform.
I would have liked to walk to the bottom of the falls, but either didnt see the track or you cant?
If your in the area its worth the short detour.
Toilets and picnic tables in the car park, no bins so bring a bag.

Hidden Falls in Toora, South Gippsland.
Falls are 40 km long and cascade over rocks in a picturesque gorge.
Picnic tables and toilets.
Nice, shady area, a bit of an hidden gem.
Falls were name from John Gellion's daughter, Agnes.
Agnes was also a popular name at the time.

Great Falls to visit and would spectacular you had access to the base of the river looking back towards them. Spend a good hour here and it was worth it. There is ample parking and a great picnic area complete with toilet. Great for a day trip is you are staying in the area. Must be amazing in winter following a downpour!

Visited 21/9/23. Very easy access to falls. Had car park as well as rest room. Short walk from car park. The falls was flowing at its fullest. Wish there is a way to get to the bottom of the falls.
