    Nice place ♥️
Golubac fortess is worth visiting! The tickets cost around 5-6 euros and includes the parking fee and the entrance to the complex. It's located on the river bank and the view from the fortess is amazing. The complex has a terrace where you can enjoy a drink or a dessert with the view of the fortress and the danube bank. Very nice location, i recommend visiting it!

    Fabulous restoration and well-presented information.
We took easiest zone (green) that was enough stairs for us. We also received a pensioner discount on presentation of our Australian Seniors card. All the information signs are in Serbian and English. On the hour a guide inside the palace will give a summary of the fortress in English. The entrance fee is reasonable for the fortress and off road parking.

A fortress from a fairy tale
A fortress from a fairy tale. Worth visiting. It is divided into several zones depending on the difficulty of access. We visited only the most accessible one. Those who would like to climb the hard-to-reach parts of the fortress should be aware that there may be poisonous snakes on those rocks. The warnings are clear. The interior is nicely decorated and the activities are well organized. The view of the Danube and Romania is wonderful.

Golubac Fortress is a very nice fortress located in the homonymous town on the Serbia's river bank of Danube, in Eastern Serbia. Really, the fortress is wonderful and it has some levels to visit, also it ai located just on the river bank, so in some moments you are on the river. Really interesting. Pitifully, the fortress is under reconstruction, so some parts of the castle are not available in November-2019, when we vosited Serbia. It is a pity! because the castle is very nice. We want to repeat the visit in the future.

Visited here as part of an Eastern European River Cruise on the Danube. It is quite small, but I really enjoyed the time we had here. It is essentially a walled fortress that you can walk in with a little museum to show the clothes of the times when the fortress was used.

The fortress is very pretty on the outside but absolutely nothing to see or do inside. The higher level is not even safe (plus you’re charged extra to go there) and the view from the top is nothing special. Not really worth the trip from Belgrade, unless you’re just stopping by on your way somewhere else.

We enjoyed our visit as part of a Danube river cruise. We bought the ticket with access to 3 of the towers. Quite steep staircases but worth the climb for the views at the top.
There are some flat paths and also a display area with a film show providing the history.
The stairs up the towers wouldn't suit anyone with restricted mobility as they are very steep however there are handrails all the way up. There were characters in costume around and this helped to engage visitors with the stories.
Illuminated at night which makes for excellent photos.

Golubac Fortress was renovated in 2019.
It looks really beautiful. There are a lot of parking spaces. The visits are nicely organized. It is really well maintained and clean. The fortress is divided into areas and you should decide which one you want to visit when buying a ticket. Some parts are only available on weekdays, some are too steep so you can visit them with a local guide and special equipment, for smaller steep parts a visit is possible for adults with sneakers.
There is also a standard section for visiting which is accessible to the elderly and children. Within this section you will be able to find exhibitions that are interesting.
When I visited, there were two exhibitions, dedicated to Miroslav's Gospel and Maglič Castle. Video presentations are available, as well as free local guide presentations. There are many things to see, read and learn. We spent a few hours there.
I will attach some pictures of all that.

This is another great tourist place in Serbia, with potential, but also very bad organization and bad infrastructure. First of all, as one of the most beatiful medieval fortress in this part of Europe, Golubac deserve better infrastructural support. There is a lot people interesting to visit, but not enough parking. Also, everything was so slow, selling tickets, guys who try to organize parking, which create chaos and crowd.
Sadly, for example, monastery Tuman has bigger parking, and better organized for everyhting

Awesome, interesting, and worth a stop. Even has a display of medieval clothing in the really nice museum located inside.

Due to rainy conditions we were limited in the areas we could walk up to -- metal stairs were extremely slippery.

Interesting how this 14th century fortress was under almost constant attack yet could not be destroyed due to its thick stone walls. However, the rising Danube river (due to a dam) is destroying it now.

Interesting stop. Would definitely recommend.

Fortress looking magnificent, very well presented and organised, secure car park available (free with entry ticket), also you can come to fortress with cruise boat, toilets are modern and extremely clean, coffee shop at the complex, free wi-fi available. Fortress is recently renovated and is looking great, 4 different paths are available inside the fortress depending of difficulty to complete them, media presentation about history of fortress is excellent, tour guide Sreten is very knowledgeable and very pleasant and professional, security are present so fortress is very safe to walk around. Highly recommended to visit.
