They are in the process of extending the distillery and the tasting room is currently in tent behind the restaurant so there was no tours. Tasting neat gin was different

Distillery Botanica's gins are the bottled essence of Australia
Dec. 2020
Gotta laugh at the reviewer who gave Distillery Botanica 3-stars because he wasn't "greeted upon arrival" - lolwut?! This place is indeed small (as most distilleries in Australia are) but on a lovely leafy-green estate (which is where they grow most of the botanicals that make it into their potions), but you're here for the gin and other liqueurs, right, not to have a lapdog greet you as you step out of your car? Mr Moore has been distilling for nearly a couple of decades, and been 'dragged kicking & screaming' into turning it from a hobby and into an exporting business, for good reason - their gins are like the bottled essence of Australia (so says an American friend who sampled one of our bottles a few years back), and their Mr Black coffee liqueur is just yummo, and not too sweet (so it's a much more versatile coffee liqueur). Great for an hour or two's visit for lunch.

Visiting from Sydney. Saw lots of signage and advertisement for this place so though we’d give it a look. Wasn’t really what we were expecting. Gardens were nice but quite small and staff didn’t really greet us upon arrival.

I love this place
Jun. 2020
Whenever I have visitors I bring them in for a gin tasting. It is such a fun mini tour, and the gins and liqueurs are fantastic. It is a really nice spot to take people. After buying some gin you can sit with some gelato in one of the gazebos in the garden.

Went here for ice creams with the family. Ice cream was awesome and venue was arranged in a great way. I had an affirmation and was very content. Great value and a good place for some time out.

Amazing place in the central coast to try gin (and gelato)
Oct. 2019 • Couples
Distillery Botanica is set up on the perfect site for a Gin distillery. This Central Coast Distillery is located in Erina on a 3 hectare site, which was once known as the Fragrant Gardens. The head distiller Philip Moore started out as a herbalist, initially taking over the gardens 10 years ago. Passion breeds success, for Philip has immersed himself in his passion for nature and his beautiful garden, utilising his knowledge to produce some highly regarded spirits.

Philip has already achieved great success globally, producing award winning gins and coffee liqueurs. We aren't going to give too much away, but keep an eye on this distillery they have some exciting projects on the horizon. Moore's love for botanicals are on display in the gin offered by the distillery, many of the ingredients coming from the incredible garden on site at the distillery.
Botanica Distillery is well worth visiting to enjoy the surrounds, to have a chat with Philip and to enjoy a tasting at the cellar door, which is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am-5pm. We sincerely appreciated the time Philip took to explain the history of his life, products, brand and distillery.
Try the Dry Gin, a traditional style of gin that has taken a Gold medal at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition. It is certainly worth its accolades. There is also the Distillers Cut to be enjoyed with a tonic. The Roots and Leaves Dry Gin is a contemporary gin showcasing flavours inspired by Philip's Distillery garden.
It's not all gin though. There are a variety of Liquers to enjoy, including the famous Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liquer, another award winner and a very popular spirit, for it it's sold internationally and at plenty of bars we know.
The site also hosts 'Bar Botanica', just a stones throw from the cellar door, serving some fantastic gelato utilising flavours from the garden. This is operated by the Mr Goaty Gelato team. They also have food and coffees and the Garden is beautiful to sit in and enjoy your food.
This was one of many highlights on our recent visit to the Central Coast. Not far from Sydney, plan a trip, book some accommodation and add Distillery Botanica to the itinerary.

Gin + Gelato + Tea
Jul. 2019 • Friends
Great relaxing atmosphere in the garden. Sampling of gin, vodka, black current and raspberry liqueur with a very knowledgeable distiller who looked like he loved what he did. It was nice to have Gelato that was a bit different named Mr Black which linked to what we tasted in the distillery. Peppermint tea with myrtle and lavender was awesome. They will need to sort out the amount of parking or the neighbours may start to get upset and lucky we were with locals otherwise may need a map

More great things coming soon
Jul. 2019 • Friends
This is a hidden gem on the Central Coast. It's been around for years. It is the home of Mr Black coffee liquer & the first Gin from Australia to win Gold in London. They are planning some great things. A new cafe, tastings and tours starting around labour day. Pop down and show your support to this great local business.
