We cycled over from nearby Madremanya; the village and the castle (which is effectively > 1/2 the town) is supported by a huge modern parking lot to the west. Our visit was during a quiet period ex for a group of school-children (whose voices added considerable levity and charm). Lent interesting context to the life of Gala Dali; an especially... More

A quiet place to views and try and appreciate the history of Dali’s wife who lived here on her own, allegedly Dali had to be invited or request a visit. There is not a lot of Dali art and but it is an important part of the Dali story. If you want more Dali art try the Theatre Museum and... More

We went to Pubol just to visit the Dali Gala castle and see the place that was the home of Dali's muse and wife! This was a place for Gala to rest and Dali could only come to visit after Gala ( Dali's Wife) sent him a written invitation!

This castle, purchased by Dali for his wife Gala, is quite interesting. The castle itself is nicely preserved since its renovation by Dali. The adjacent garden is lush, quiet and contains several of Dali's sculptures. Within the castle is more of Dali's art made specifically for Gala and her castle. Touring the castle and grounds was a pleasure. The castle... More

This is the 11th century castle that Dali bought and renovated for his greatest muse, his estranged wife Gala. It became his final work shop and Gala's tomb is resting here too. Her rooms have been kept as she lived in them - the bathroom is amazing - and there are quite a few mini exhibits there as well -... More

You are stepping back in time when you visit the Castle Dali refurbished for his wife - Gala. The furnishings, her clothes and his car all are preserved in time. It's a fascinating place and takes only an hour or hour and a half to tour. We especially loved the gardens and his elephant sculptures on stilts.

A very interesting place if you're driving around Catalunya, one highlight is the car buried at the garage!

Dali bought this castle for his wife Gala and had intended to be buried there with her. Sadly his friend the mayor of Figueres did not honour his wishes and he was buried in Figueres instead. It is the house Gala lived in and provides some insight into Dali's love for Gala.
