About
A family run mango farm on 25 acres, Crazy Acres brings you all things homemade and many things "mango". Open every Dry season from May to September. Smoothies, fresh salads, homemade bread and platters. Homemade ice creams, chocolate coated bananas, and frozen mango can all be found in the freezer. Homemade preserves, dried mango, local jerky make a great pressie to take away. Sit and look at the very trees that produce the beautiful mangoes that are used in so many ways. Tables in the garden have you in between the tropical fruit trees and make a great place to relax with a meal, drink or ice cream. The staff are happy to help with tourist information, local knowledge, or simply how we pick the mangoes.

We headed out of Darwin early in the morning and, having picked up a flyer about this mango farm, decided to come here for breakfast. As we drove in it looked closed and we nearly turned around, thankfully we made a double check and had the most fantastic breakfast that I've tried to recreate now I'm home in Cambridge - mango and banana smoothie!! Great coffee, muffins, chia pudding, scones and you eat outside with a view of the mango trees. Friendly and welcoming people running this unique business - highly recommend. It is close to Berry Springs where you can take a swim.

We have been here a few times now and each time the food does not disappoint. Yesterday I had a scone that comes with their homemade mango jam which is delightful and fresh cream. Plenty of it too, enough to easily cover the scone top and bottom, which was also light and up there with great scones. Hubby had a pulled pork burger and it was very tasty he said and plenty of. Came out looking very appealing and I will try next time. Daughter had a wrap and no complaints came from her and the grandchild was happy with the chocolate cake that comes with a scoop of ice cream. She was very happy washed down with a chocolate milkshake. Coffee is good and prices are too, not over the top at all. The surroundings are very average and there is huge potential for a shady oasis but we were comfy at the table and service was good. Its a pleasant short trip down the track from Darwin out the Cox Peninsula Rd and I think only open during tourist season but definitely worth going to.

Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Yes, only open from May til Sept for the beautiful Dry season weather and unfortunately with such a dry Wet season and the risk of our water running out, the place is pretty dry and dusty this year which does give it a bit of an "average look" but hopefully with a good Wet season this year we will be green and lush again for next Dry.
Sounds like you had a good range of some of our most popular dishes with the scones and the pulled pork being favourites amongst our regulars.
Hope to see you out here again when we reopen for Dry season 2020.
Thanks
Karen

After a swim at Berry Springs We can definitely recommend that you drive a few km further for lunch or a snack. I LOVED the mango smoothie and passionfruit was my pick icecream. BUT the big winner was the picnic platter. All tasty morsels and delicious home made bread/damper. Small menu but I am sure you will find something to fill up on.

When our tour manager said 'would anyone like to stop for mango smoothies" it was a resounding Yes! So glad we did. They have a nice range of jams and sauces available too and serve light meals.

A simple mango ploughman’s platter was shared and we left clean plates.... plus a jar of mango chutney to take home! Thanks to staff who were attentive and working in the heat of a NT winter..... which is not always easy in a farm/production style cafe!

Visited the cafe en route to Dundee Beach. The mango chia pudding and mango smoothie were good. Shocking cappuccino I’m not sure why they bother 4-10 for that. Also I know it’s called Crazy Acres for a reason but it’s a very messy untidy place with junk just lying about outside buildings. Not interesting old stuff just plain rubbish which is very off putting. The place needs a good clean up and revamp.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review.
I'm glad you enjoyed your mango products, they are after all our speciality.
Sorry to hear the coffee was not to your liking though. I'm sure if you had mentioned it to the staff they would have offered a replacement.
I'm also not sure where all the junk is laying around outside buildings. The shop is housed in one side of a mango packing shed on a working farm. Nothing is laying around outside the cafe area or any area where the public are seated etc.
Thanks,
Karen

I took 18 ladies here for lunch and we couldn't have enjoyed it anymore than we did. This is a rural experience with all homemade food. If you love Mangoes it is the place to go. Mango Smoothies were delicious, mango chicken salad was scrumptious. Even the toasties and scones were great. There are many choices on the menu. This is not a 'flashy' restaurant but a great rural experience about 1 hour down the track from Darwin. It makes a very pleasant Dry Season Experience and one that I can totally recommend. The prices are great and the mango ice cream is delightful. Karen couldn't do enough for us and so we will be back. :)

We love mangoes and thought we'd give this place a try. A mango farm to visit, what could be more fun. The picnic platter was very generous for $16, enough for 2. The homemade bread was delicious! Had a smoothie and a slushie. All food and drinks we ordered were of an excellent quality. Love the outdoor seating, all very relaxing atmosphere, listening to chickens cluck, kids running around happily and the birds in the trees. The staff were so hardworking and professional and friendly. We took home a delicious jar of mango chutney. We want to come back already! Well done, Crazy Acres, on running such a great place.

When do you close for this season or have you already closed we are running out of mango sauce
Karen D
Greater Adelaide, Australia
Hi Sarah,
We are heading for the 24th Sept as our last day. Very hot and quiet now.
Don't panic about the mango sauce. We are in the city every week until Deckchair cinema closes in November and could meet you somewhere or drop some in. We also have sauce year round and can post if needed and you are not in Darwin.
Cheers
Karen
