The Naquane National Park of Rock Engravings in Capo di Ponte was the first park established in Camonica Valley in 1955. The area extends over 14 hectares of rock art land, a most important section belonging in Camonica Valley's World Heritage UNESCO site n. 94.

In this park, in a magnificently wooded environment, one can admire as many as 104 engraved rocks, endowed with information panels, divided into 5 easy-to-walk routes for about 3 km. The entire tour of all paths takes at least 4 hours.

First of all, as a non-italian speaker, I didn't know that the platform of Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line actually locates at another corner of Brescia Train Station. I missed the 7:07am train because I went to the wrong platform for normal trains. After the hassle of making enquiry thinking that the train was cancelled, the Trenord staff couldn't tell me exactly where... More

First heard about these drawings due to the ancient astronaut theory. These drawings are amazing! In a nice area, could be a family of couples trip, not too far from Milan Malpensa airport (an hour???).

The park of the rock carvings is very well preserved ed also very nice organised. There you can learn a lot about history, specially if you have an expert guide like we did have.

True, not all engravings are easily visible, but some really nice ones are. What I liked about the place is that you see the engraved rocks at exactly where those early homo sapiens did it - not in a museum.

This was our second visit to the Naquane Park. It is the most important site in this valley of 200,000 plus petroglyphs -- rock engravings. Some of these animal pictures are truly artistic as can be seen from my photos. These depictions of life 8,000 years ago have helped archaeologists to interpret more traditional materials from digs. We plan our... More

There seem to be several rock art sites. We went to the one that is walking distance from Capo di Ponte station and spent a very pleasant couple of hours exploring the site and finding the artwork and enjoying the scenery. There were a lot of school parties there looking at some of the most significant pieces. There is a... More
