About
Rinjani Dawn Adventures is an adventure tour and trekking company based in Senaru, Lombok. We offer various packages for climbing Mt Rinjani (3726m), as well as day-trips to some beautiful locations. Founded in 2014, but drawing on many years local and worldwide mountaineering experience, the company aspires to be the most environmentally and socially conscious operator in the region. Following recent earthquakes Mt Rinjani is currently closed. However, it is still possible to visit some amazing locations with us (and safe to do so!). We are opening a trek on Pergasingan Hill near Sembalun, as well as expanding our Senaru Panorama walk to include a night camping in a "jungle garden" where you will learn about growing coffee, cacao, avocado and much more. If you're interested, please contact us through our website or email. The amazing mountain guides in Senaru depend on tourism for their livelihood, and many have lost their homes. We welcome you to an authentic experience of Lombok.

We did the Mt. Rinjani climb with Rinjani Dawn Adventures in Oct 2023. It truly is a once in a lifetime adventure that is tough but super rewarding! We were paired with another couple, picked up from our hotel at the start, and dropped off at a location of our choosing after the trek. Everything was really well organised and easy from that perspective.
Han, our guide, was truly top quality - he met us the night before at our hotel to brief us on the trek and itinerary, but more importantly he kept us smiling the whole time with great conversation and jokes, and kept our energy levels up with snacks, sweets, fizzy drinks and water. The experience wouldn't have been the same with anyone else! His team of porters were also fantastic - what they do is unbelievable, trekking ahead of us to set up camp on the crater rim, and keeping us fed and watered with some truly delicious food ... We certainly did not go hungry!
We consider ourselves fairly fit / active and found it hard going - do not underestimate the challenge! We were definitely aching the day after, but totally worth it for the experience.

I just completed a 3D/2N Mount Rinjani trek with two friends. Amazing trip and an amazing company. Nas (our guide) was a fantastic guide who spoke pretty good English. He was motivated, prompt and kept the pace our group wanted. His communication was good and helped us get up the mountain which I admit was harder than expected. The porters were also good, food tasty and plenty of it. They actually gave us so much we started asking for less. This is a mid-range price trekking company which I personally think is the best way to go. If you want someone to have a table for you and serve you bintang at night then chose a expensive company, but personally I dont think you need to have all of this to have a great experience. We didnt have a table, but had chairs, which many other companies do not have. Save the bintang and your money for after. I also liked doing the 3D trek as it gives you more time on the mountain. While the summit is the pinnacle of the experience there is much more to see. Bottom line: If I would do this trek again I would do it all again the same as I just did and use Dawn Adventures.

Al, Ayut and Vita were the best team ever! Our guide Al was so sweet to teach us a lot of Bahasa and things about Indonesia. We really enjoyed our 4 day tour - Ayut and Vita, as well as being incredible porters (we honestly have no idea how they do it), made our trip very special and set camp in private places, away from the hassle of other tents.
One of the best experiences of our lives and only thanks to the three of them and to the fact that they really make an effort to make everything as comfortable as possible for you.
The hike? Well, one of the most challenging things we have ever done! We like hiking, but Rinjani’s terrain is something else!
Thank you to all the staff at Rinjani Dawn Adventure - you are truly the best we could have asked for! :)

My boyfriend and I went on the 2 day 1 night crater rim trek with Adi as our guide. Can’t say enough good things about Adi and our two porters, they kept us so well fed and we could want for nothing. They really are like superheroes I don’t know how they do it!
Rinjani itself was a challenge but really well organised by the team and well worth the views at the top. The lads made sure we had a great camping spot and when we opened our tent in the morning we looked straight out to the crater, it really was something!
Thank you guys, we would recommend you to anyone wanting to do Rinjani, we had a fantastic experience.

Best Rinjani trekking experience ever :
Friendly and skilled guides and porters, 0 degree sleeping bags, comfortable tent, mattress and pillow and plenty of food and snacks, 0 waste policy. I definitely recommend RDA if you want to make the Rinjani ascent in the best way possible !

Rinjani Dawn were responsive, thoughtful and helpful from the first interaction via email to set our itinerary to coming to our accomodation to help us change our trek when I got sick and couldn't do the full Mount Rinjani summit trek.
Aef was amazing and welcoming - and passionate about ensuring that the company continue to support the local community with their Susak Warrier community project. Aef organised our pick up at the port, Pergasingan hill trek, waterfall tour, Mount Rinjani trek and transfer to our next accomodation in Singgigi.
Our Pergasingan trek was incredible - the views breathtaking. Our guide Udi and Porter Lasadi were fabulous. Amazing meals cooked ontop of a mountain, snacks along the way and Lombok coffee.
Our waterfall tour was excellent with Udi acting as our tour guide, photographer and coffee specialist.
Having to change our 3D2N summit trek to a single night to the Crater Rim was necessary when I become unwell and I was so disappointed but we were supported by Aef's team with Hero looking after me (carrying my pack) so that I could make it to the rim for a once in a lifetime experience. Our porters Sutra, Lemi and Lasadi cooking our delicious meals and carrying ALL the equipment for our stay - THANK YOU!
I was super impressed that we left no trace of being on the mountain with every single piece of rubbish removed and taken back down the mountain by our porters.
We highly recommend this company.

Me and three friends tok the three days two nights hike for the summit of mount rinjani and had a blast! The nature surrounding mount rinjani was magnificent and our guide Alex was great and very nice to us! Would rally recommend this trip!!

We had an amazing experience with Rinjani Dawn Adventures. We climbed the Pergasingan Hill (Lombok Explorer package) and camped on top. This is a very nice hike (about 2 hours) with great views. The perfect hike for people who think Mt Rinjani is a bit too much ;)
Our guide (Hero) and the 2 porters were very friendly and they cooked delicious meals for us.
I definately recommend this trip!

You're right, this option is great for people who don't want the challenge of Mt Rinjani, yet still want some hiking and camping on Lombok. We did the 2D1N hike with Man as our guide and Awal and Jeck as our porters.
We were treated like royalty the entire time!
The hike was challenging but super rewarding, and an amazing experience that we will remember forever.
If we return, it will definitely be with rinjani dawn.
Tip: wrap everything in plastic bags - our clothes got wet and we had to borrow some off Man and Awal for the summit

I am very happy I chose Rinjani Dawn.
Hero and Rizal, the guides, were caring and made sure we were all safe. Having two guides allowed everyone to walk in their own pace and enjoy the hike. The porters were also super nice and every meal was very good!
Rinjani is very demanding mountain, even for those in good shape, so be humble about your fitness level and don’t ignore it. The sense of achievement is definitely worth the struggle.

Hi, my friend and I would like to book a tour. We have two questions: 1. Is it possible to cancel the trip without any extra costs? 2. How many days should we book in advance?

Hi Sophie,
When you book a trek we invoice you for a 20% deposit. This is non-refundable, but is transferrable to another date or tour, should you cancel more than a day before the trek is due to depart. The main reason we do this is because we've had no-shows in the past that we have arranged transport for, and we have to pay our drivers and people regardless. We also buy fresh food the day before the trek, which goes to waste if people cancel last minute.
It's best to book at least 5 days in advance of a trek, as the national park is limiting numbers on the mountain using an online ticketing system. The cost of the entrance fee is now 150,000 IDR per person per day, which is covered in the price of the trek. To avoid disappointment it's advisable to book in advance, but if you want to make a last minute decision please just contact us through our website or WhatsApp number (it's easier for us to communicate details via email, however).

Can I join a group or do I need to book together with other people?

Hi Andre. we need a minimum of 2 people to run a trek. if you inquire via our online booking system, we'll see if there is a group leaving on the dates specified. if not, we'll advise as to alternate dates / packages. So basically you can join a group if there is one, but we can't run treks for 1 person- 2 is the minimum. most of our groups are 4-10 people, but we often also run with 2.

Hi there. Unfortunately the mountain is closed from January to April as it is the rainy season, and the National Park authority restricts access. At the moment the booking calendar on our website does not reflect this (i.e., it still allows you to make an enquiry for these months), which can lead to confusion.
Trekking on Mt Rinjani officially opens on 1st April. We will post updates on our website if for any reason the government changes this policy.
