We stopped by as were in the area, and this was a lovely find. It's a small castle ruin that has a moat full of water. One can walk around the castle within 5 minutes, so this will not be somewhere you need to spend too much time at. It's free to visit and the village itself is also quite... More

While not necessarily worth a long distance special trip (unless you are a committed castle enthusiast), Nunney Castle is a must-see if you are staying in the area. It is easily accessible (a couple of steps and some rough walking once you are there) and has an almost idyllic location. It also graphically encapsulates a period of English history. Oh... More

Lovely little castle with moat. Only worth it if you are passing through but nice n nevertheless. The village is small but pretty. Stay at Penny's Mill if you go there though. That's not to be missed.

Perhaps one of the smallest castles I've ever visited and although in ruins is well preserved. Apart from the moat the Nunney Brook also runs close by making for a very enjoyable setting.

Stumbled upon this place online and so glad we did. It's only small and to be honest not much of it is left but to look at it's lovely and is set in beautiful surroundings. It is nice you are able to go into what is left and look around. We took a stroll around the village which was also... More

This is a beautiful village with the imposing castle ruins in the background. A very interesting visit with boards telling you about the place.

Ruined, with a moat, this little castle is romantic, in a great setting hidden in plain sight in the middle of Nunney Village. Enchanting, even in early March.

Costs nothing to visit it is tucked away in the charming village of nunney. We visit here for a bit of a wander and it gives a chance for our little one to get a bit of a runaround... Lovely in any weather (just be careful of the moat which is filled with water!) Great for wildlife too at anytime... More

Nunney Castle is a lovely little castle in the pretty village of Nunney. It's set right in the heart of the village with a tea room very nearby and an excellent pub, The George, just a short walk away. The castle is surrounded by a moat and can be accessed by a footbridge at the rear of the building. Although... More
