Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the deepest lake among Riftvalley lakes. It is the most attractive lake with Islands and silent activities on and around this lake. If it's potential utilized properly, I think this must be the most beautiful lake of riftvalley lakes. I heard, a resort is coming up in near future and if things goes as planned this is an idealic vaccation destination. It is too salty to swim but if the said resort open with fresh water access then it is possible to swim in this lake. If boat service available on this lake then it is possible to visit the islands.

This is not a recent visit but the message I am sending is timeless. Lake Shala in Ethiopia's Rift Valley is a fantastic tourist destination. When I used to visit as a boy in the late 50's early 60's it was fairly safe. We just used to load up our Volkswagen with camping kit and drive off. The water was warm I think it was sourced from a volcanic mineral spring. the bird life especially flamingo was fantastic. If you are feeling adventurous give it a try.

The view from Abiatta-Shala National Park over Lake Shala and Lake Abiatta is stunning. On your way in to the National Park, you can get an informal guide who walks you around and you can see antelope, warthogs and ostritches. It's quite sad because the lakes are stunning (but as they are salt-lakes, there are no fish to feed the people living there), so is the scenery - breath-taking in fact - but the land is eroded, trees are being cut down and the land is bare and the people that live there are really suffering which was visible all around.

The best time to get there is early in the morning when the steam and early sunrays give beautiful photo opportunities. However, the park gates open much later and the bureaucracy prevents you to enjoy the best bird watching time.
