Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The lake and surrounding area is nice BUT the outpouring number of tourist made it SO dirty. It is sad to see the lake trashed with plastics, bottles, chips, soda cans and ducks eating from that. The water has become thick and murky in places too. There should be strict rules or fines against littering. Too.many restaurants, entertainment booths, cars, other vehicles has made Uzungul very chaotic.

Awesome lake, variety of activities, good restaurants nearby.
Swiss like village in affordable cost if travel.
It’s suitable place to escape crowded cities.
I like it too much.

Visited here on an organised tour from Bodrum. Yes from a distance it's a beautiful lake. But shops very commercialised, not particularly clean, litter everywhere. My biggest problem, which I've never encountered anywhere else in Turkey, was as a white British female dressed in shorts and tee-shirt, I felt a little bit intimidated and was constantly being stared at. I was actually glad to leave.

Sometimes I say people don’t have access to some nature. We have killed this beauty that my Lord created. The lake is still trying to stay clean despite the people. It’s too little to say there are no bad Turkish tourists. I wanted to be more my own citizen than a foreign tourist . Prices are good for the season of expensive accommodations. But I’m sorry the places to eat are cafe and shopping or are tailored to tourists.

This place is no longer Uzungöl, it has become Arapgöl. Only some waiters and employees in some establishments are Turkish, the rest are all Arabs. What a shame, they have officially massacred this beautiful place. Do not waste your time and come here. If you want to ruin your nerves, go here.

No visit to Trabzon is ever complete without visiting Uzungol. Its the ideal lake side holiday spot. Ideal for a short stay. The views from different sides r breathtaking. Lots of fun things to do and good food galore

Your visit to Turkey will not be very fruitful without visiting Uzungol. I can say it’s the bride of Turkey. The lake view from the terrace is amazing. Many activities, paragliding, play area for kids and adults, renting a scooter, hundreds of restaurants, cafes and stalls for candy and ice cream.
A must visit place while in Turkey.

I have visited so many countries and attraction from Far east to ME and Europe, this place is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in my whole life amazing lake view from top. I went there in August and the weather was perfect it rains most of the time. make sure to take light jacket it is bit cold there, in the way you will see many other beautiful places as waterfall. around the lake many activities you can do, best might be walking around and shopping as well, though it is tourist area but prices still acceptable slightly higher than Trabzon, there are many nice restaurants. it is highly recommend

Uzungöl is an area in Trabazon. You may rent a car from Trabazon or take a tour. I would recommend a 2 night stay
You may stay on the lake(point A)just adjacent with view of the lake or slightly ahead 500meters(point B) which gives the sweet sound & view of the stream of water flowing
There is a small market, grocery and restaurant between the points A & B
There are 3 main areas to visit which would need car or quad bikes(available at rent)
1. From the main mosque to the right upward track where you would find a couple of small water streams coming down and the water is soo clean , clear and cold as ice. As you go up there are 2-3 restaurants where can you enjoy a meal/coffee with a great view of the Uzungol lake. Can be done is 1-2 hours
2. From the main mosque to the left side is another small track going up where you find a proper spot to have an eagle eye view of the Uzungol lake
3. You go up from point B where you would find river water flowing for more than 15kms. You can stop at couple of points and enjoy

What a great place and a nice drive. But unfortunately it was ruined by arab tourists where every place was catered to their life style. Being an Arab myself I was hoping to find Turkish rural traditions but it was all catered to rich gulf Arabs and prices were high overall. Traffic was also annoying. Make sure you do paragliding when you are here.its way cheaper than other places in Europe with the same natural beauty.

I plan to travel from Goreme to Uzungol and pass to Demirkapı and Şekersu to stay a night there ,
What is the right path that you recommend ?
Especially I have heard that the road between Bayburt and Şekersu is dangerous .
Is it better to go from Macka-Uzungol way ?
or it is the same gravity as Bayburt way ?
Is these ways safe ?
thanks
