Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kids would enjoy this museum. It is not worth a separate visit, but the entry is included in the low fee to visit the entire archeological site. As such it is a useful addition to an arena visit. There are dioramas, some ruined sculpture and a few gladiatorial artifacts, like helmets and leg armor. It's also out of the sun, which is useful after visiting the arena.

The museum has 3 rooms consisting of replicas of gladiator paraphernalia, child-like display of an amphitheatre, and a wax figure gladiator fight. Little information in English. Albeit the amphitheatre was the second largest after Rome’s colosseum, not much remains of it and what is left is being taken back nature and the pigeons. However it’s interesting as you unlimited access to all of the amphitheatre including the underground tunnels beneath.
However, please be aware that’s it’s difficult to find without a map (EU citizens should use google maps with their mobile roaming. Everyone else needs a map as their is poor signage and it is a 20 minute walk from the Santa Maria Capua Vetere station. Also on sundays their is a limited train service to Naples and you have to go back to Caserta to change trains. We waited 1.5 hours for a delayed train back to Caserta only to catch the one back to Naples by the skin of our teeth.
Also the Mithraeum was closed although the website states that it is open until 6:30pm on sundays. We got there at 5:30pm.
It only costs €2.50 for the Mithraeum, archeological museum, gladiator museum and the amphitheatre so I don’t suggest using your free entrance on the artecard for this. Either pay full price or go to it after you have used it for other places because you will get 50% discount.

The ticket entry includes a visit to the amphitheatre and the small, relatively uninteresting museum.
The amphitheatre is in remarkably good condition and almost completely open for exploration and well worth the visit.

A small and rather shabby museum. Dioramas of some gladiator figures in the arena, masks, hats and weapons. There are no explanations in English, and any other language. And one of the big minuses is "the lack of air conditioning", on hot days the place becomes a sauna.
The only advantage is that the entrance ticket to the amphitheater also covers the "Museum visit".

The amphitheater is spectacular as well as the underground. Although the museum dedicated to gladiators is very small, it has some beautiful pieces, including helmets, gladiator leggings and numerous sculptures.

We saw this before going into the amphitheatre as it is included in the €2.50 entrance fee.Showed replicas of helmets and the layout of the amphitheatre as was with the marble balistrades.Only takes 5 minutes to walk around.
It is in the entrance to the amphitheatre.

This is a 30 second side trip on your way up the path to the amphitheater. Your ticket to the amphitheater gets you into the museum, otherwise I wouldn't recommend that anyone pay for this. Sounds like it would be really cool but there are only a handful of things to look at and none are very impressive. They should just include this stuff over at the archaeological museum.

Very small museum that fell short on the gladiator theme. It was only two rooms big and took no more than a couple of mins to look at the exhibits.

There are some amazing historical artifacts but no explanation in English. Very hot with no AC and stuffy.

Since it is located inside the Campania amphitheater, this museum is definitely worth seeing! There is interesting information about the life of gladiators, you will understand how many amphitheaters there were in Italy in Roman times! There are ancient artifacts, not many I have to say but interesting! In short, another museum that will make you add knowledge to your cultural baggage. Enjoy your visit to you people of TripAdvisor.
