Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning castle situated within an old village. Free to access and tremendous views from the battlements, both of the village and surrounding countryside.

Worth a visit a wonderful castle and its free ! The castle was built replacing a Medieval fort, of which remains the central tower. Several families, like Acquaviva, Piccolomini, and Medici, modified the building up to the current structure, completed in 1485.

Now the castle is used as the council offices/town hall.

The castello was very interesting, with a well in the courtyard within the walls. The views from the ramparts were breathtaking! It is in Capestrano, a fairly remote part of Abruzzo, but is worth the time. Just below the castello is a small shop, where we had delicious gelato.. There is also an interesting church across the piazza from the castello.
