Montanita Beach has beautiful surf most of the year with a lot of activities, restaurants, hotels nearby. The main attraction is most definitely the waves with really soft, gentle waters but at times waves can be pretty big. Lots of big surfing in high season,...More

A little crowded for my likings, but beautiful none the less. The nice part about crowded, there are good vendors walking on the beach

The beach was very clean even if busy at certain times. There are good waves to play in, and a lot of vendors to buy snacks, drinks and souvenirs from. The vendors are very respectful and not pushy. A simple ‘no, gracious’ and they will...More

We stayed in Casa del Sol, a hostel north of town that can be reached by walking along the beach. It was a beautiful beach with great beginner surfing!

This beach and malecon is great if you are young, a surfer, or a party animal. There are steps to the beach, restaurants, lots of people, and pretty noisy and busy.

Is a beach made for surfing, that's the first thing you need to know. Nice waves that lasts for long so they give you time to become creative. If you are not a surfer and you want to swim you have to be careful: it's...More

You can enjoy a busy little beach, watch surfers, go parasailing, rent boards and take lessons, or just relax under an umbrella in a beach chair. Unfortunately, at high tide, the ocean comes right up to the boardwalk, and the beach is a little crowded...More
