Having a garden open to the public once a year concentrates the mind on obtaining unusual plants and Sue Beesley often has new plants that we want to grow. Being local and bearing in mind that I think all of hers are produced in the nursery they are likely to flourish in our own garden. They are also of a... More

We walked to the gardens and nursery from our the spot on the canal where we had moored our narrowboat. They have a small tea room & we enjoyed a cup of tea and some homemade cake. The tea room is very modest (we were hoping for sandwiches) but the cake was very good. My wife toured the garden and... More

This is a proper plant nursery! The garden is lovely to visit - even though it rained throughout our visit. Great for getting an ideas for beds and combinations. Toilets & DIY tea room. Forget it if you want to buy pots, pans, clothing & bling! Garden centre free; garden visit £3.50.

We called in on a dog walk to this little gem of a nursery with cafe! Good Dogs are welcome to sit outside and water is provided for them. We had some delicious cakes and a couple of drinks which energised us for the rest of our work. They even had a gluten free cake which was to die for!!!... More

Costs 3.50 to enter the garden. This was right up my street - cottage garden full of beautiful flowers with impressive heights that put my own garden firmly in it's place. It's a decent size to wander round, but won't take hours. Thee is a woodland I believe, but we didn't see this. The lady who we bought our tickets... More

A real gem. Lovely gardens with a vast range of trees, plants , shrubs and lily pond.Very well maintained. The herbaceous borders provide a kaleidoscope of colour. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The tea room was amazing: where else can you be trusted to help yourself to tea, coffee, cakes and Icecream and pay when you pay for... More

Went on recommendation of friend, said to be dog friendly place. Well not quite, dogs allowed in meadow and around plant sale area but definitely not in the garden. You either have to lock them in your car or tie them to a dog post near the entrance. Tea room is rather basic mug of tea and piece of cake,... More

Hello Paul, Thank you for the feedback. We are first and foremost a garden to visit and a plant nursery. We have carefully weighed up the pros and cons of allowing dogs into the garden itself and have concluded that by only allowing guiding dogs into the garden we are ensuring that as many people as possible enjoy the gardens,... The bluebells can be seen like a carpet in the wooded area at the side of the car park, it is simply beautiful. The gardens are gorgeous but the entry fee is a bit pricey in my opinion.
