Gorgeous!
May 2021
This is a hard trail, although only around 7km; be prepared. The waterfalls are gorgeous and very nice to swim in. Definetely a must while at the Chapada.

A not very known place but still a must go at Chapada dos Veadeiros

The macaquinho waterfall is located on the way to go to Alto Paraíso de Goiás, while driving the road to this city, which can be considered a good place to stay, you can stop by the waterfalls, be sure that your car can go through the dirt road, it's not necessary to drive a SUV, but it's recommended.
The macaquinho Waterfall is a complex of 11 waterfalls and if I were you I would go to the last waterfall and then come back to the beginning of the park, then you can pass by all the way through the waterfalls and choose the one you want to stay the most.
It's really hard to have time to see all waterfalls, only if you don't stay too much time in each one of them.
My favorite where the Jump Waterfall, where you can literally jump from a rock inside the water and the last waterfall in the complex, that's the highest waterfall.
There's a entrance fee of R$30,00 and you have to pay in cash, so don't depend on your credit/ debit card, it won't be accepted.
Carry water with you, or buy it in the entry, it's really necessary while walking through the trekking path.
Reserve one day long to know this beautiful place and then continue your travel through the Chapada dos veadeiros.

Most memorable waterfall series in Alto Paraiso. Truly Magnificent
Oct. 2017 • Friends
Very few tourists venture to this part of the region, where a set of about 10 pristine waterfalls await. It takes a private vehicle to go there and a 4x4 is recommended. There was a camping site, bathroom, and restaurant near the start of the trail. I spent a few hours hiking from one waterfall to the next. I was there with a friend and we almost had the entire trail to ourselves. The most beautiful waterfalls were at the end of the trail. The last one was so tall and magnificent that it took my breath away. I saw a few swimmers, but I just sat near the water and absorbed the view. Macaquinho means monkey, and the owners of the land believed the land to be sacred, not unlike land attributed to the monkey king Hanuman. I sang the Hanuman Chalisa while I was there and it felt powerful. I was fortunate to meet people who gave me a ride to this beautiful sanctuary. It was difficult to get to, compared to the many other waterfalls in Alto Paraido. Sometimes it is tempting to stick with the ones closest to town. But if you want to see a place that looks like a Garden of Eden, if you love hiking in untouched nature, and if you want to see if monkey waterfalls have the spirit of the monkey king, then do visit this off-the-beaten track trail. It is best if you have reliable transport to get in and out, as there is not much around the trail head. I was there for one full day. When I saw this set of waterfalls, I forgot about the others in the region, even the ones on the National Park.

We did more than look at the waterfall, we made a canyoning through the whole river, people who like these things should do it! But obviously the waterfall is a must!
