We had a nice evening picnic here. Lovely sunset. Easy parking, nice walking. The kids spent hours looking for crabs and shells. Saw a seal lion as well

Drive along the sea front, or park and walk . . . delightfully uncrowded most of the time, though weekends in the summer can be quite mad.

This has been one of our favorite camp grounds to stay at. The restrooms were very clean and the sites are set up nicely. We enjoyed taking advantage of the well maintained walking trail. It also has a grocery store and laundry facility near the...More

Our friends always brag about what great parks Canada has (and I have to agree) but Birch Bay State park in the states is right up there with the best. We reserved two campsites over the 4th of July weekend and it was great. Facilities...More

This was our first time camping at Birch Bay. The campground itself is lovely; lots of old growth trees, very large campsites, and decently spaced from each other. Not tons of privacy, but I wouldn't have expected much on Memorial Day weekend! The campground was...More

I went there today and saw a unicorn. I can't believe it. Go and see. You won't beleive it. They are very friendly.

This area is extremely beautiful. If you enjoy the ocean and beach you will love this quaint park and beach area. Very close by is Birch Bay which offers up restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops and also ice cream shops. Love this area. Enjoy your stay

Love his park and the beach. Just a 20-25 minute drive from Bellingham. Bring that lawn chair, grab that hamper of chicken & potato salad and plan on a restful respite at the beach. Camp under beautiful trees in the park.

Great, old state park. Diverse with more than a mile of easily accessible beach and uplands forest. About 150 camping spots, a few with filtered water views. Nice quiet camping, if a little pricey (thanks Washington state). One short but fun trail.

Great spot for a walk and sunset view, even in February! It was a bit windy and cold while we were there, but there were a lot of people out. Best when the tide is out!

As I have seen all are pretty good for location. Although it all depends on availability of course

Generally: Yes in season with a license, which can be purchased nearby. Right now is not crab season and clamming is in temporary hiatus due to red tide.
