On our way from Svaneti to Kutaisi, we had a one night stopover in Zugdidi. We loved it, although the main attraction (palace) was closed because of elections. The market was lovely and people very welcoming. We could check in at any time, the woman at the bakery didn't want me to pay for a traditional bread. Nobody bothers us and as we had to buy a special sunglasses, the guy in the store was very patient using Google translate. Loved the place and far better than to drive the long drive from Mestia to Kutasi in one day. Of course some buildings are very 'old', but intriguing especially with the big Dutch truck in front. …

I was dropped off at the end of Zugdidi Boulevard when I took a marshrutka from Batumi and before getting a taxi to the Enguri bridge. The street is modern and wide with plenty of trees. I wouldn't say it's a tourist attraction of itself, but it's nice enough.

Quite relaxed, slightly busy centre and then it for of end at Dadliani palace and botanical garden. Can find lot of localities and tourist around. There is a tourist information centre and the lady there is quite helpful

We went here straight from kutaisi airport as a stopover before our trip to Mestia. Around 19.00-20.00 whole the city comes to chill. Lot of youngsters flirting to each other. On Sunday we had even live music (atmosphere was great, quality of singing so so).

Relatively small for the boulevard but shady enough to get away from August heat in Zugdidi. One should be careful even on the pedestrian crossing. There are couple of local monuments and fountain. You may walk it through easily in quarter of an hour. The place relatively clean and has benches to sit in a shade.…
