A verry beatiful scenic route to the cave, a rare glimpse in Crete's rural world, but great disappointment at the top when we discovered that the cave is only open at weekend during the winter season... We got there on a Tuesday and therefore couldn't visit.

Scenic way to the cave from Rethymno. About 50km far. Big and nice cave. No wild life unfortunately.

Not much more to add except in the summer time it's open til 1700, wintertime 1430. Not sure when winter is but mid sept they sti had summer hours. We also had to wait 45min for the next tour. (All tours are guided) so you can not access on your own. Tour is 30min long. Not sure how often they... More

We stumbled on to this as we got lost going somewhere else. However the cave was worth a visit. Guide knowledgeable and cheap to visit.

The impressive 3000-square-meter cave allows a 270-meter walk, providing visitors with breathtaking sights of how Mother Nature patiently "creates" an aesthetic spectacle by using mineral-rich water drops. Visits to the cave are only with a local guide. In addtion to the cave being large and impressively beautiful, it is air-condidtioned, Perfect for a hot summer's day!

Well again, not to repeat what others have said but we also arrived late for the last tour of the day. The little cafe had great ice cream which we ate while we waited. The tour itself lasted maybe 30 mins or less but was entertaining and the cave was beautiful although I have to admit that I personally like... More

We arrived just as a tour was about to start but I wouldn't worry if you have to wait on a tour as there is a kafenion next to the ticket office with stunning views. The tour is very informative and the caves and the formations of stalagmites and stalactites simply stunning with great use of varied coloured lighting to... More

For me, it is a must go destination in Crete. The guided tour is very cheap. No reason or excuse to miss it.

I never visited a cave before but, find it really beautiful. The guided tour is very cheap, like five euros per person. No reason or excuse to miss it.

The facility was well organised with good parking, clean toilets and a good cafe. The tour itself was great, with a guide providing English and Greek information.. They may do other languages as well. The walkways are very good, just be careful not to slip in the metal ramps. The cave formations are incredible with stalactites and stalagmites very well...
