We are a historic volunteer preserved and operated private Miniature railway running around the scenic estate of Stapleford Park in East Leics. The railway was first constructed in 1958 and was restored after closure in the 80s opening in 1995. We usually open twice per year as part of combined steam rallies Second weekend in June and the three day August BH weekend 2018 dates will be Sat Sun 9th 10th June and Sat Sun BH Monday 25th 26th 27th August 2018 The railway is world famous and features a fleet of scale 10 ¼” gauge steam locos including two replica North American engines and various British and an East African and often also has visiting locos. Visited the bank holiday event for the fourth consecutive year last Monday. I have to say that this year was a little disappointing. There did not seem to be as many other attractions and the wait to get in the train was ridiculous this year....More

Went to the rally in August,only open to public twice a year but well worth a visit.fantastic setting with the railway making its way around the estate.would go again ,prices very good for steam ride and station food simple but great value. Staff very friendly...More

We always make sure we have the two opening weekends on the calendar because it's such a great day out. And very good value for money too! The best scale steam train I've ever been on and run by lovely, friendly people.

We always have a trade stand at both open weekends and are made very welcome. One of the friendliest events of our calendar. Come and pay a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Hi there is power up at the beer tent etc if you have a chat with Jez the organiser on the weekend or you can have quiet generators running in the camping field as it is spread out so no problem

Hi yes dogs under control are welcome on the field and on the trains but bear in mid the carriages are quite narrow and open so a really big dog may be hard to control or nervous but we have carried many without incident... More
