A value for money meal & well presented, but the wait @ the counter to pay was really bad (12 minutes+) & there were 4 staff in attendance. Just no comment from any of them, such as 'sorry, will be with you ASAP', until the last minute. They definitely need a person on the till when the queue grows!!! Hope... More

Set off from a wet & windy Lancashire for an afternoon caving experience and ended up canoeing and then caving as well. We call it a canaving day trip. Absolutely loved the whole experience. Well led and very informed throughout by Tom and equipment was 1st class too. Will definitely visit again to try out the other activities. Thanks again... More

I recently did the Big Five adventure with friends at How Stean Gorge, and it was amazing. To say I was dreading it was an understatement: it's been twenty years since I dragged on a wetsuit and did something crazy. But a combination of great host, great friends and great weather made for a perfect day. The Big Five is... More

Gorge walking and staying at Scar House Barn: The staff were really helpful, I phoned on several occasions about my booking for my hen weekend and they always gave me the information I required and sought out the answers if they dont know them. On the day of the gorge walking Ian our leader was so positive, supportive and taking... More

Had a fabulous day doing Abseil/Gorge Walk, Kayaking and and Caving. Tom who led the way was a star, as were all the staff in the shop/cafe ....even Stan's jokes were not too bad!! Thank you to all concerned .....a great way to spend the day. Lee & Debs.

Admission is £7.00 and seems a little steep considering how little there is to do. Hard hats were provided and needed for the cave. We were informed about a tunnel we could enter however having done caving on seeing the entrance I wouldn't allow anyone to enter without appropriate equipment and an instructor. It concerned me there were no members... More

We took our 12 year old daughter here yesterday whilst staying at Swinton Park. First positive was the scenic drive over the moors to get there. We parked by the campsite which was good as nice to walk along the river/gorge as you approach the ticket office/cafe. I would strongly recommend wellies or decent walking boots with gatters for your... More

We visited How Stean Gorge in March 2017, for the "Big 5". I was a bit worried about what I had signed me and my partner up for, especially in March where there was the likelihood of snow, but I am so glad we did it. Tom was our instructor and he made us feel at ease and more importantly... More
