About
What? You haven´t heard of Artcava? Ok, so we may not be the most well known winery in the world, nor did we hire an internationally famous architect to design a mind-boggling modernist building. Our cava has never won prizes and most people have never even heard of us. We like to say we are the best kept secret in the Penedes region. So you are probably wondering what Artcava is. We are a small, charming winery located in one of the most important wine regions in Europe, The Penedes ( a mere 40 minutes from Barcelona). We make a modest 15,000 bottles of quality artisan cava a year with our own hands, adding nothing, no chemicals, no funny business, only love. Who are we and how did we begin? We are three partners here at Artcava: Eric, the winemaker and wine taster; Ignasi, the one who looks after the business side of things (someone has to), both are in their early thirties; and Ramon, the foodie, a bit more than early thirties ( we call him the Gran Reserve).

    A place to enjoy
Few times have I received such pleasant surprises as yesterday when we went to Art Cava, Masia Can Batlle, in Avinyo Nou. The place is absolutely charming, located in a 12th century farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards, with a fantastic terrace shaded by mulberry trees; the food is delicious, but best of all has been the treatment given by Pep, a friendly, charming host, who makes you feel as if you were in your own home, always smiling and cordial. The place is located next to a parking lot for motorhomes. A splendid place to eat splendidly, taste the wines and cavas of the Penedes and, on Thursday nights, enjoy live performances. A place of obligatory visit where you will leave with a smile on your face, wishing to return soon.
Thank you very much! It's lovely to see how much you enjoyed La Manela with Pep & Cooptruck! It's a special space for us too (vineyards and farmhouse as well!) Cheers!

    Amazing tasting experience
We hired electric bikes from bike motion and cycled to artcava to be met by Gerard for a wine tasting and tour. Best day of our trip, Gerard was just amazing! We sampled plenty of cava after doing our tour, Gerard was so knowledgeable. We included in our trip sealing our own bottles of cava adding personalised labels. Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt special. Will definitely be going back

This is one of the BEST tours I have ever been on. I learned so much about the history and process of wine making in Spain. The vineyard has so much rich history and produces lovely wines. We were able to try several before making our favorite selection and bottling our own product. Neat experience!

Carla was a fabulous guide/host, who took us through the intricacies of wine making. The vineyards spectacular, the architecture, ages old, and the food leaving you wanting just a bit more.

I had quite a few questions and thankfully, Carla was happy to answer them.

Very interactive, very immersive, and you even get to bottle your own wine bottle and take it home.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Visit if you are inquisitive like me. (By the way there are cute little kitty cats.)

Thank you

Gerard was our tour guide and it was fantastic. Super sweet guy. Very knowledgeable. Made an effort to answer all of our questions even if he wasn't sure. We got a TON of wine. I mean we had 4 bottles of cava between six people. The disgorgement process was fun and the spot was beautiful. Gerard made sure we got to our train on time and he was just the best ever. Would highly reccomend! So knowledgeable about both the history of the vineyard and the production of wine. Tour was excellent! Highly recommended!!!

We had a great time on the tour! Our guide, Gerard, was very knowledgeable, generous, and funny. He even picked us up from the train station. It was only the two of us on the tour and this allowed us to learn a lot about the winery and Cava's production process. The ability to cork and label our own bottles was a major plus. Definitely recommend having lunch at the winery as well -- it was one of our favorite meals in Spain! Would recommend this experience to anyone!

Our young guide, Gerard, was quite good and made this a fun day. Because it was a small group and we were sitting at a table, we got to know the other participants and enjoyed the conversation. The winery was generous with the Cava and we tasted three varieties. Then we bottled our own Cava to bring home.
The historic house is interesting and we recommend staying for lunch in the garden.
This was a very enjoyable day all around.

The organization of the tour was fantastic. The guides are very responsive before the tour and even picked us up from the train station.
At the vineyard, we did a cava tasting, went through the production facilities and even finished a bottle of cava for ourselves.
In the end, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch!
Highly recommend this tour!
Thanks a lot to our great guide Carla!

Very knowledgeable and passionate guide. Great balance of activities with tour/history the cava tasting, then a bit more tour then bottling our own cava. Plenty to taste and enjoyed all the cavas. We stayed afterwards for the bbq lunch. This was incredibly good value with unlimited drink. We had typical Catalan onions to start with then bbq meats with bread, tomatoes and white beans. Selection of desserts and coffee also provided. At the meal beer and wine were also served . We were offered more food but didn’t have space. Great day out. Left about 3pm with our bottles of cava which we are stilll enjoying.

My Wife and I booked the Create your own Cava experience at ArtCava whilst having a short stay in Barcelona. We were kindly met by Santiago at the local train station who gave a small local tour on the way to ArtCava, explaining about the vines and local area and taking us to a high viewing spot for a gorgeous view of the surrounding area. His enthusiasm for his area, cava and work made our time with him extra enjoyable. The Cava tasting was brilliant and they all tasted really good, the bottling was great fun with a bottle each to take away and lots of knowledge learned about Cava and a really enjoyable lunch as well, possibly the best food we ate whilst on holiday. We also had the pleasure of meeting an American tourist who popped by to buy some wine and was able to sample the cava before buying (Eddie - I hope all is well). All in all, a fantastic personal experience at ArtCava and a definite highlight of our city break. Moltes gràcies Santiago.
