Our last day of holidays was marked by the winery "SAPATEIRO". Pleasant discovery! Silvi, Chico and Tiago are very welcoming and kindfull! After visiting the vineyards and knowing more about the making of SAPATEIRO wine, the tasting of the wines and the different Portuguese appetizers was simply perfect. Nice story and congratulations on this great project!

The hospitality off the owners made us feel very welcome. We have had a great experience. The clear and relaxed explanation during the wine tour together with the beautiful wines accomplished with delicious Portuguese tapas was amazing.

Nice unique wine tasting. The best and most private wine tasting we ever have done. Wine and tapas were amazing! We spend much longer than planned. They showed us around the wine yard and we had the tasting afterwards on their private balcony with a lovely view. I can strongly recommend the whole experience.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Sapateiro. Tiago and Silvi are wonderful hosts, we were able to have our tasting on the balcony which was beautiful. We were with our three young children and they were so accommodating and provided a great snack for the kids while we did our wine tasting. (Thanks again!!) For the adults we enjoyed 4 wines with accompanying paired appetizers. The food was beautifully served and tasty. The wines light and refreshing. You can tell Tiago takes great pride in his wine making. Thank you also for sharing photos from our visit, it's actually really nice to be able to enjoy the experience without having to take photos. Our visit was fantastic and I'm sure Tiago and Silvi will be asked to host members of my extended family in the future.

I rarely write reviews, but our visit to Sapateiro on December 29 was such a wonderful experience that I felt I had to share it. Tiago and Silvi (along with their dog Chico) were warm and gracious hosts. Our family of four spent several hours viewing the grounds (fairly wet from a couple weeks of rain, so we didn't walk among the vines), seeing the wine making operation, and tasting of 4 delicious Vinho Verde wines (rose', standard white, richer white, and a lighter style red). Along with the wines we were served a wonderful selection of hot and cold Portuguese tapas. All together it was a very filling lunch and well worth the cost! Tiago is a very talented young wine maker who has been trying some different things in the Vinho Verde tradition. I am very interested in the directions he will go with his wine making. Sapateiro wines will soon be imported into the U.S.A. and I am hoping that they will make it to New Jersey. If you are in the Porto area, I would highly recommend the hour trip to this gem of a winery! P.S. Our GPS was happier with Rua dos Canhoes 967 as the street address rather than Rua de Canhoes 967, so try this if your GPS is not happy.
