We went on a very hot day so the coolness inside the chateau was very welcome. The chateau tour was without a guide but easy to follow. Several stairways, beautiful furniture and wall coverings, interesting information sheet in different languages. The gardens are well tended...More

There are grander chateaux to visit in the Dordogne but this gem is presented a lot better than many others. No audio guide, but at the gate you will be offered a sheet with a translation of enough of the panels in French to make...More

Gazing over the countryside from the walls of the Chateau you could imagine how it was, defending against attacking forces with a majestic view over the surrounding land. Well worth a visit, with interesting, views rooms and history.

We rode our bikes up a steep hill to be greeted by the sight of the chateau perched on the hilltop. There weren't many people there, but on entering found that it dramatically exceeded our expectations. The tour is self guided (with good English translations)...More

Perhaps this Château does not have the grandeur of some of it's more famous neighbours however it is a delight and the display rooms are very well presented. Will recommend a visit to any friends visiting Perigord Noir.

There is no guide, but detailed explanations in each room. I understand you could have guides in other languages too. The site is beautifully kept and views would have been fantastic had it not been raining! The furnishings inside are really interesting and organised according...More

Like most chateaux, you cannot take pictures inside, but the outside views are spectacular. Inside are some beautifully restored rooms full of weaponry, artefacts etc, the chapel is beautiful. The kitchen is particularly interesting. Unfortunately they don't have a cafe, as it would have been...More

I'm sure the chateau is wonderful but what we don't like is the hours/service. We rode on our bikes up a huge hill to get to the chateau. We locked up our bikes and at 12:25 p.m. walked toward the gates only to have the...More
