Beautiful any time of the year but when the Bluebells are in bloom this is a treat to visit as the woods explode in a carpet of lavender blue. Take care not to get lost. Deer are plentiful.

Lovely walks with good paths and we'll sign posted! Lovely morning walking. No cafe or play area so nice and quiet and with free parking-a cheap day out.

Been coming to these woods for many years with family and dogs and always had a pleasant walk. Many different trails to take some with interesting sculptures. Paths could be better signposted. Really beautiful when the bluebells are out. I believe there's an organisation that takes people for organised walks at different times.

I have entered at both the Challock side and more recently the Chillham side. The Chillham side has smaller more natural tracks and paths. These are very large woods and there is beauty all year round with plenty of evergreens. Take wellies and your mobile phone! I recently, with an adult who knows the woods well, or so we thought,... Lots of tracks and you can sometimes get a bit lost and come out quite far from the car park. But the best place for Bluebells to be seen. Its a place which is popular with Families and also Dog walkers. Worth visiting in Bluebell season.

Truly a lovely nature spot. Sometimes you can wander and not see anyone else, well it is 1500 acres. Easy to get lost though, as unfortunately lacks footpath signs (I'd appreciate if there were more). Hothfield Heathland is much much smaller and have many signs. However you can (slowly) build up your knowledge of the place, in sections, then join... More

Lots of walks, ample parking, variety of woodland - beech, pine. The Stour Arts seems to be lacking and many 'exhibits' are either just not there or closed for repair. This doesn't detract from the woodland though and it's a great place to tire the kids out!

beautiful woodland but I am a dog owner and was disgusted by the amount of dog mess people have left, if you don't have a bag at least find a stick to flick away from where small children will tread in it!!!!!!

Best time to see the bluebells. The woods this year was a carpet of bluebells which ever way you went. Lots of walks great for dogs and children if you lucky you could see deer
