Absolutely loved the show when we were here 4 years ago and absolutely loved it again this visit. It was great meeting the new puppy recruits. Lawdogs is a most do when you visit Stanthorpe.

Ok.. the dogs are the stars at this place. Rightly so. They will show you the various dogs they have at different stages of their training, so if things don't go according to the description of the presenter, don't worry. Make sure you book. They are trying to stick to their covid plan, so be mindful and respectful of this. On arrival you'll be given a sticker for the show then again due to the social distancing rules, you'll be shown to your seat when your name is called up. A bit of feedback... and making it clear this is NOT A COMPLAINT. There are two attractions at this place, the dogs and the truffle discovery centre. We were booked for the 11a.m dog show. But they advertise as open from 10, so we got there at 10 wanting to know a little more about truffles. They have tasting of the truffles, but when we got there at 10, things seemed a little haphazard. They were waiting for someone who would give the tastings.. but no one turned up. More customers turned up and it became too crowded in the little shop so we stepped out due to the amount of bodies and social distancing rules. Maybe moving it outside under the shade cloth, as there is more room to accommodate more people? So we missed out on tasting, which is no problem. We still bought our oil and were more than happy to support this local business. This is a great attraction for all ages, give it a go. $25 for adults and $5 for children make it a reasonable choice for things to do in Stanthorpe. Sorry, no photos. I was more interested in watching what the dogs were doing.

I had always wondered about truffles, and we found out everything we needed to know here. Lots of samples of truffle infused products - oils, dressings, mustards etc, as well as a variety of different honey and other items. The dog show was very interesting, showcasing how dogs are trained for roles in security and law enforcement settings.

The host was clearly passionate about dogs and very entertaining. Did I mention that you get to pay the puppies.

We visited on our own as we wanted to see the truffle farm (on same property), but then were pleasantly surprised to meet this friendly crew. Very informative talk re the truffles and then enjoyed the welcoming country hospitality in the shop chatting to owners and even got to meet one of the local cuties. Great produce truffle products are delicious - spent up big and will visit again next time we are in Stanthorpe to hopefully have time to watch the law dogs show.
