Lovely gardens and nice house. Took a picnic and found a nice quiet spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings, Hinton Ampner is in a beautiful part of the world with lovely views. Only given 4 stars as the cafe was rubbish. Service was slow and Cake and scone we had was dry and expensive. Should have complained at the... More

We visited both house and gardens for the first time. Each room in the house had a knowledgeable volunteer which added to the guide we had been loaned for our self led tour. They have many rooms on two floors. The gardens are just starting show their summer buds with the last of the tulips, narcissi and bullbells in full... More

The gardens here are gorgeous and have so many different areas to them, can be really enjoyed the best on a sunny day. The gardens are so well kept and you can also go a long walk at the bottom of the gardens. Great day finished off with a egg hunt to keep the kids happy, perfect.

We visited on Easter Sunday. Stopping for bacon baps in the coffee shop on arrival for breakfast. The coffee shop got very very busy by lunchtime so its advisable to go early. We then enjoyed a nice walk around the grounds and a look around the house. You could easily spend a few hours here.

We took our granddaughter to Hinton Ampner, her first national trust property. She is a lively 5 year old who usually enjoys theme parks soft play and the cinema so it was a gamble! The added fun of the Easter egg hunt and an art and crafts room made it such a good experience. The gardens were spectacular, we'd not... More

Best to go on a lovely day to get the full benefit of the many beautiful gardens and the views from both the gardens and the house. The house is one that you could actually imagine living in and is full of items collected after the devastating fire in the 1960s. As a child growing up the owner had to... More

Visited recently on Easter Tuesday and was not disappointed. The National Trust property at Hinton Ampner is well worth the visit. The gardens are superb and there is plenty of walks available to suit various levels of fitness and ability. The house was very interesting, but really should include some element of 'below stairs'. This would give a balanced view... More

We came to Hinton Ampner this time to enjoy the greater estate as we had done the house and the gardens on a revieuws visit. We found a circular 2hour walk across fields and through the forested parts around the estate. As it is the time for the Blue bells to be in bloom, we decided that now would be... More

As this is situated fairly close by and being National Trust Members, we visit here often. What I aim to do is schedule visits each season throughout the year, as this can offer different experiences which is exciting. But I dont only wait for a new season, I am often tempted to pop in, have a wonder round the gardens... More

Visited Hinton Ampner at Easter. We arrived a bit too early for the opening of the house so had a walk around the gardens first. Beautifully kept gardens which had amazing borders and flower beds. We fell in love with the house which was very interesting and felt very welcoming. This is a house that was obviously very loved by... More
