Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The WW II monument has faded but it is still a remarkable story.the beach is gorgeous. I was so impressed with Ireland in general with regard to cleanliness. The beach is spotless.Bring your own food and drink because there are no services. You can lean again a dune and read, and enjoy the sea and sand. Parking lot is big but it gets crowded quickly if there is a sunny day.Long walks along the beach are recommended.

Well worth a walk in the morning when the tide is out. A good 1 hour walk end to end. Clean white sand. Great at any time of the year

Forgot to look for the memorial on this visit but this has to be the best beach in Donegal, may be a bit cold for a swim but the walk is well worth the trip.

Situated beside the spectacular Dunfanaghy beach this interesting curiosity is well worth a look.

4 crew from the RAF were wined and dined on the evening of 16 June 1942 when they had to do any emergency landing on the beach. Next day, fortified and relaxed they continued their journey to Prestwick...

The site is a memorial to an event in 1942 involving RAF Ferry Command when a Lockheed Hudson being ferried from the Canada ran out of fuel and landed on Dunfanaghy Beach. The plane was refueled the next day and took off again.
Entry is via the Golf Club Road past the Club House and across some of the fairways to a car park near the beach. A memorial is situated at the beach end of the car park.
An interesting place to visit and read the story as well as walking onto the beach itself.
