Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I looked up the blue flag beaches in Donegal and this was named. It is incredibly impressive, vast and clean. It had lifeguards, portaloos (no toilet paper though!), bins (though full :( ) and free parking. It was very busy although it is small enough given the popularity of the beach. We turned into the golf club to get to the beach carpark. It is incredibly easy to social distance here. There was a warning to keep dogs on leashes and to be careful of soft sand near the river as well as low & high tide times. There are huge dunes for kids to play on. Just amazing. We came here and also checked out the other blue flag beach of Marble Hill Strand (10 mins away). Would highly recommend and will definitely return one day🙏. I defy anyone not to be impressed with this beach.

Who could argue that Donegal is stunning! Dunfanaghy beach lives up to expectations. Gorgeous long wide white stretch of sand with shallow waters. We were blessed with blue skies on the day we visited. Just a beautiful place to be. Lovely to see the horses up and down the beach

This was an absolutely stunning place for a day out. The village itself is home to some lovely places to eat and the shops in the town sold high quality items which I have not seen elsewhere- I especially recommend Olivia’s for clothes- they were beautiful and I had needs up buying several items.

Absolutely beautiful bay! I visited this bay multiple times daily during my stay to observe the changes brought by the ebb and flow if the tides. It’s well worth a stop if you’re in Dunfanaghy.

After our dinner it was nice to be able to go for a walk along this beach that seems to be going on forever and ever. Even in the late evening when it was darkening, it was still a lovely walk.

The view across the bay is amazing. It's so tranquil and absolutely stunning. We were fortunate to have the view from our hotel room at Arnold's. Beautiful.

A good place to stop on the coast. Don’t miss the work house like we did. Lots of places closed mid day but very peaceful.
