I have a friend in Canada who is originally from Ballybunion so I just had to go while touring Ireland. There's not much to see here, but the beaches are beautiful. And the golf course is famous. Bill Clinton once visited it and there's a statue of him there apparently. Because we were just passing through, we didn't bother going... More

The place where the Shannon ends and runs into the ocean. Quiet and magnificent, where you can see the outlines of other county coasts. Interesting enough with quaint old time separations of beaches from the womens to the men( to the nun) still fondy remembered. Small historic ancient ruin at the onset of the beach and nice to see. Priceless... More

The beach is amazing, beautiful sand and looking out to sea is spectacular, the waves crashing against the cliffs, there is a fabulous walk all around the cliffs and have your camera ready to take pictures, I would advise extreme caution in the water as the waves are quite high and very strong, there is a little place on the... Worth a visit - even if the weather is cold and damp (!) - you can get a good view from the parking lot. A walk down to the ruins of the castle is an option.

Went with 4 kids ranging from 9 years to 1 and the beach was fab, not too crowded, not to large so you can keep an eye out and lovely little shops alongside including a cafe...what more do you need !!

the most beautiful secluded beach. The sand is clean. The breakers look gorgeous against the cliff. Overlooked by the old Castle and Cliff House Hotel.

We traveled to Ballybunion as my ancestors lived here many years ago. It was nice to see that they lived in such a beautiful part of the country. Very clean and very friendly people. I want to go back!!

Had a great day on the ladies beach with the youngest child. Sun was shining, sea was warm and the beach was clean. Got there early so it wasn't mad busy just a couple of surfers and a few other families building sand castles. No rocks to speak of and the jelly fish were nowhere to be seen. The sand... More

Convenient location and really beautiful. Popular on a nice day and water is a good temperature. Great for kids, just make sure they don't get lost! Near lots of restaurants for eating and good for all ages.
