    An absolute fantastic night out
Greeted by Jim an amazing butler at the door who was very enthusiastic & entertaining throughout the night.Treated to honey mead in the great hall and brought to an absolute feast. Our table was tended to by Cathrine, one of the many beautiful singers who couldn’t do enough for us,kind & considerate at all times. The harpist(Nora)….was simply mesmerising. Then came the dinner, what a feast(medieval style)…..soup to start, the most amazing ribs and a chicken dinner followed by cheesecake all while being entertained by amazing professional singers. Their rendition of Danny boy was particularly memorable as it showcased the individual voices these talented singers have The sopranos Cathrine,Tara & Emma,Altos Lisa & Erica, tenors Joe & Barry and basses Jim & paddy Thank you all for a fantastic & memorable night

Great Experience and MUST DO if in Shannon
This is a MUST DO if you are in Shannon. It is excellently run and I was not bored for a second (I am 36 y/o). My dad (73 y/o) could not stop raving about it. The entertainers are wonderful as they are funny, charismatic and great singers! The food was very good especially considering it had to be served in bulk. It’s not going to blow your socks off, but it was better than expected and there is plenty! The honey wine (mead) was delicious and some of the better/unique wines I’ve tasted. Fun for the whole family. Had an excellent time.

Fun evening's entertainment for all the family.
Fantastic evening's entertainment. Fun, fantastic service with enjoyable food and drink. Staff are immensely entertaining, friendly and helpful. They definitely deserve a decent tip for such service. As it is held in an old castle, the elevator has not been invented yet so some stair climbing involved.

The Best Night Out in Ireland!
This was the favorite activity of the family during our Ireland trip. The music and singing brought tears to my eyes. The acting and comedy were first rate. The food and setting were phenomenal! Wonderful people and production. It was well worth the cost!

    Musings and Music
I was a bit unsure of what we were getting ourselves into with this one, but I was pleasantly surprised and left grinning ear to ear. As we first walked into a great hall, we were served some delicious honey mead and were welcomed by Sir Chris, the “Butler.” Then, we were lead downstairs for dinner. We sat side by side with other couples in some rather tight quarters, but everyone was friendly, and the setup was appropriate for family style serving. The four “removes”, or courses, we were offered were quite tasty. Appropriately, in the first three removes, our only implement was a “dagger” (a steak knife), which made eating unexpectedly entertaining. During the meal, we were treated to the sometimes rehearsed and sometimes random musings of Sir Chris and the other Bunratty staff, who were both minstrels and servers. After our meals and many laughs, we listened to twenty minutes of Irish singing, accompanied by a harp and violin. What a lovely group of talented entertainers! Back upstairs, we were served coffee and tea with a surprise…a musician in traditional dress playing the bagpipes outside. We had a great time and would gladly partake of another banquet.

    A fantastic night
A fantastic evening. We had a great night here, it was good to get a little bit of history of the times but I have to say the singing, music and the humour of the team there was excellent. I can also tick having mead off the list (they have a non alcoholic option as well). I thought the banquet meal was very good and I really enjoyed all the dishes. One thing I would note is that you do need to go up and down some narrow staircases in the castle but there are handrails which helps a lot.

    A Banquet to Cherish!
Great fun and a perfect way to end our Irish vacation! Good, hot, and plentiful food and wine served by the singers who took special interest in the patrons. Beautiful music-some songs brought tears to your eyes. The true testament of the troupe’s character was when the appointed Earl of Thomund had an unexpected health episode during the dinner. The Butler quickly and professionally addressed the situation with help from other cast members and health professionals in the audience. The Earl revived to everyone's hearty applause and the Lady made a remarkable closing speech. Everything was just wonderful.

    A real medieval banquet
Wow! So cool! We loved this. The food wasn't that good, but the singers and musicians were great. Really a once in a lifetime type of event. All the performers were SO kind. It was such a fun night. Tip: Be one of the last ones in. They bring you into a big hall for drinks, and then they take you into the banquet hall. The people in the back got to go in first and got the best seats.

    Great first evening in Ireland
Even on a rainy night, the banquet experience was great! We had previously toured the castle and folk part, which are interesting, and on this trip we booked the medieval banquet. It begins with a musical reception and a cup of mead. Throughout the evening the musicians and servers were really first rate. Yes, this is put on for the tourists, but we found the food to be quite good and the entertainment to be excellent. There is plenty of food and wine. We left in a great mood. There are several B&Bs in the immediate neighborhood so the combination made for a great first night in Ireland after driving from the Dublin airport.

Positives:
Musicians are talented and the show moved quickly

Food was good and served hot

Lovely crowd of guests

Negatives:
Long walk to and from car park is poorly illuminated

Waited in the pouring rain and wind for near 20 minutes to enter the castle. Seemed very unorganized when the guest could have been welcomed more quickly or directed to a ground floor room for warmth and to stay dry.

Hard debris from castle fell and hit three folks in our group during our wait to enter.

We booked the tickets for the banquet in advance as it's a very popular night in Bunratty for people visiting the folk park. They take you up to the hall for a glass of mead and an introduction to the procedure for the banquet and they have some entertainment for you before dinner. After the introduction you then moved down to the main hall and you are seated at long tables with the other guests while they start to serve the food and then we were treated to more entertainment and good natured banter with the entertainers. I would recommend that you book your tickets in advance as it's a very good night out

Fun way to spend an evening in the castle, with music, songs and performances, and of course, dinner. The harpist was fantastic. Kudos to the singers and performers, they really put in some serious effort. Food was pretty decent, and vegetarian choice was available. Plenty of wine and juice. Our kids enjoyed the experience very much, and had a blast eating with their hands like in medieval times. I'd say older kids might have more fun than younger ones given the duration, close quarters, and content.

I recently celebrated my birthday at the banquet, this happened to be my 3rd visit there which considering I live in Canada my tell you something. The performers are magnificent, while I enjoyed them all I would like to single out Chris who has been there 9 years. He does just an utterly fabulous job as the butler. The food is great, the wine is good, but it is the cast that make it truly special. I am unsure of when I may be back in Ireland but I am sure that whenever it occurs I will once again find myself at the banquet. Thank you Chris and all for the Craic.

We went to the Medieval Dinner Banquet and we couldn't be any unhappier. It was terrible and unsafe in every possible way.Squeezed like sardines and not able to even eat the food we were served. From a health and safety, fire hazard and COVID-19 point of view , it was absolutely digraceful- a tragedy waiting to happen. We were crammed up, invading any idea of personal space just because the place was "overbooked" and they didn't have any other choice but to cram us like sheep. When I explained the manager that there was no way 4 people were going to fit in a space of not even 2 people, I was told " there is nothing I can do. My boss won't understand that and I can't do anything". The temperature in the room was over 35 degrees. No ventilation whatsoever and it was only towards the end of the evening they opened a door , which happened to be the door that we were supposed to exit through. I have never ever in my life seen anything as bad as this. Even the water we were given was warm. Absolutely disgraceful for a place that has a reputation to just cram over 200 people in the space that was supposed to hold not even half of that. I understand everyone wants to make a profit as quickly as possible, but this is beyond anyone's nightmare of how an evening could turn out. We didn't even have space to eat. I asked for a chair as I was getting claustrophobic and my husband couldn't even catch his breath and we were told there's none and no space was available to put any additional chairs. To have spent 300e for this is the biggest mistake ever. The organisers should be ashamed of themselves. No customer service on behalf of the evening manager and absolutely no understanding. Nothing. Just chat back and point blank refusal. Blaming someone else that was in charge of organising the sitting. I am a medical professional and never ever have I felt so unsafe, uncomfortable and humiliated in my own life. I hope people learn from my experience and avoid this as much as possible until these kind of dangerous situations get some sort of resolution. Nothing would ever convince me to go back here. Ever. Shameful and humiliating.

As a part of a Cosmos tour we paid for the excursion to Bunratty Castle and it's Medieval Banquet. The evening was fairly expensive through Cosmos but they also provided transport. Food was ok, entertainment ok but setting was spectacular. Organizers and staff warmly welcomed you into the castle with a warm glass of mead. Loved the mead. Once we were asked to be seated there was the usual rush to grab the front seats. Some people have no shame. However, the entertainment moved around the banquet hall so everyone could see them. You could order a glass of beer with your dinner which was a good option as the same old people grabbed much of the wine. Our small group all agreed we had a good time and the evening was worth the money and effort. Just ignore the rude and complainers. Have fun.

This was perhaps my 10th experience of the Bunratty Castle Banquet, and it's still as entertaining as ever. They've only recently re-opened after Covid, so it was kind of nice not to be overly crowded. Staff did a great job of keeping us together and safe. Food, music, craic, all grand fun and top quality. Missed hearing Danny Boy. Not sure why it was absent. Family with a little girl sat next to our group. She appeared to stay focused and entertained, so definitely family fun. The bagpiper out in front upon our exit was festive beyond measure. I got a bun of people dancing in a circle around him. Don't be afraid to have fun!!!

Wow, what a great evening of good food and brilliant entertainment. Met with a cup of mead and introductory talk, moving upstairs to the banquet hall - a four-course (simple but tasty) meal together with as much red and white wine as you wanted. The "servants" were also the entertainers and the musical sounds they offered were just tremendous. My wife and I had come across to Ireland for the Munster v Exeter Chiefs rugby game and came away from the banquet saying that this had equalled if not surpassed the enjoyment we derived from the afternoon prior.
