Castle and adjoining Folk Park are interesting. Folk Park gives a detailed insight into life in early Ireland.

That was a great afternoon trip, we learnt a lot about Irish history and those times. The staff makes an impression it's still live with fires burning in the houses, ladies dresses in dresses of those times offering scones with butter :) we miss you xx

we enjoyed our day there, but lots of the shops were closed. we were not informed about this when we purchased our tickets. the castle is very authentic but would benefit from some tour guides which were not available when we were there. still a good value for the money

Really enjoyed touring this castle. The folk park was also very informative and well laid out. It was a step back in time.

Visited the castle and folk park for a 1798 Rebellion Re-enactment weekend which had plenty of colourful uniforms marching about. The castle was the perfect backdrop to this event which I believe is a regular occurrence at the park. The park has a vast location which needs a few hours to go around so there's plenty of walking to be... More

Bunratty Castle is a steep climb to the top, but worth the view once you get there. (My thighs paid for those steep steps for while.) However, I decided NOT to go down into the dungeon because I could see no handrails. My sister did the walk down and said there are rails, but just not in sight from the... More

We were here before...despite the wind, the clouds.. the castle just arose as a nice history telling its story. Up ...one should go up and see the four towers. Breathtaking.

This is a lovely place to spend a nice summer's day. Climbing the interior stairs of the castle can be a bit of an effort but people of all ages do it, so it's not that particularly difficult. Nevertheless, the interior stairs are not for people with walking difficulties, though there is still plenty to experience and see inside the... More
