We arrived on what we discovered was "Free Wednesday" to find a very packed car park. However it was very well stewarded and we had no problem parking. Tours were all booked out in advance so we had to wait for an hour and a half. We enjoyed a coffee in the pleasant cafe and took a stroll through the... More

Called in for a coffee while out driving and decided to take the tour of the house. By the way the coffee/tea rooms are lovely. Quaint, Clean and friendly staff. We asked about the tour and were informed one would take place soon. Anyway we were so lucky, only two of us on the tour as it was the last... More

The Gallery is small, however it held some wonderful portraits by Irish artists. While visiting there was a tour of the adjacent house that was owned by artist Derek Hill. He gave the house, gallery and surrounding gardens to the Irish people and it is now managed by the OPW or Office of Public Works. The tour takes about an... More

A unique memorial to the life and work of an amazing painter. The house and garden are breathtaking. The ham sandwich in the café was delicious. The temporary exhibition in the gallery when we were there was of international standard.

I have visited the grounds of Glebe House many time but today was my first day inside the house & I have to say what a treat it was. All the pictures Oriental prints arts & crafts wallpaper rugs plus curtains. A real sense of a full life lived! Don't delay in visiting.

Enjoyed our visit to the House and Gallery, after a gap of 20 years. Staff were very friendly and did everything to make our visit enjoyable. We also were able to have a nice lunch in their tea room and the grounds are a delight. Well done.

Was here a number of years ago and just had to return. This is one of the most fabulous "living" houses you can see. The grounds, the house itself, the contents and, most importantly, the story of the former owner, Derek Hill. The tour itself is brilliantly hosted by knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides and I can guarantee you will be... More
