This makes for a fine walk, especially in the evening when the birdsong just has to be heard. There are great views over the water and the distant hills. The paths can be muddy in places when there's been rain. The walks aren't extensive and...More

On walking through the park the sight and sounds of the river was beautiful and a gentle stroll for about 3 kilometres a must.

Found some super walks in the Glengariff Wood's/nature reserve. Esknamucky walk is 3.5 kms long with lots of hills and steps and Broadmeadow walk is about the same length but flat. Well maintained and no very busy. Great place to get out and about.

Love the fact I can let my dogs off the leash to roam around, as they are trained petting dogs they return to my command immediately

There are a number of relatively flat short walks in the Woods, which offer a pleasant place for a stroll. Nothing particularly outstanding, just pleasant. Plenty of car parking, probably better suited to locals on a picnic or seeking some exercise than to tourists or...More

This small fragment of a maritime coastal upland oak community is of great significance and value. Please keep it protected! Forest types such as these are tiny remnants of Ireland's ecological heritage and were reputedly cleared by British occupiers to deny cover to the occupied...More

Lovely forest, walked a few of the walks, great scenery, no toilets but if you plan ahead it's not an inconvenience. Easy and harder walks

West Cork is highly recommended, but Glengarriff Nature Reserve is a fabulous example of what sets it apart from other locations. If you enjoy walking and exploring off the beaten track this will blow you away. Abundant choice of walks with differing degrees of difficulty...More

We visited in the late evening and really enjoyed the peace and beauty of this small woodland right beside the town of Glengarrif. The blue pool is very picturesque and the departure point for a ferry to Garnish island.
