Wife loves the old classics and "The Quiet Man" was one of her favorites. Spent a rainy day visiting Cong (Quiet Man Museum) and surrounding area looking for the bridge where John Wayne proposed to Maureen O'Hara and finally hit paydirt. Wife wanted a photo...More

It’s a bridge, never mind the bridge and head to the pub in Leenaun that’s the real place to head to get a pint and talk to the locals

It is a bridge...over a brook. There is room to park on the street near the bridge. Lovely photo op. It is just off the N59.

After getting lost a few times trying to find it, we successfully arrived. My friend was so excited to see scenery from a movie he loved. He felt a part of history.

we had to stop as this is part of my favorite movie of all time. I was surprised that there wasn't a picture of Maureen O'Hara there as well as John Wayne. Kind of disappointed in that

We visited this location in the late afternoon. It was so quiet and peaceful! We enjoyed the gorgeous views while there and on the journey to get there.

Surprisingly non-commercialised location from the old John Wayne film. It is in a nice location and is a must see for fans of the film. But...... it is just a bridge.

They have removed the sign that used to be on the road so we missed it the first time passed and had to hit it on our return trip. This iconic bridge is well maintained and along with the picture of John Wayne sitting on...More

We stayed in a condo near the bridge and had to go over it every day.If you love the film it was built for you would want to see it but it has no local historicall significance other than that.
